This lens serves several purposes, first off to exhibit and help sell my work next to show how anyone can produce great results with Vue6 with a little bit of imagination and some basic design principals.
Among it's powerful rendering engine and its easy to use interface it is a joy to work with, by using simple design basics and a bit of imagination anyone can produce some excellent results right out of the box.
Though I will not discuss in detail the technical aspects (there are plenty of resources available at Cornucopia about Vue and over the internet) I will discuss briefly my design idea notes on the images I post.
This is an ongoing project so I will be posting some diverse pieces over time as they are completed and some older works as well also in some cases the use of Photoshop and Paintshop Pro Photo X2
They have different Vue software's products available each with there own packaged materials and different prices, the latest version at this lens is Vue7 and a free trial version is available called Vue7 pioneer it can be found by clicking on the banner below, along with models for sale and a helpful forum.

This was a fairly simple scene.
The flag was a free model at Cornucopia that was added to the atmospheric backdrop with stars and moon added. It rendered within a half hour because of its simplicity.
I cropped it several different ways for products that I added the image to at my Zazzle store.
Operation Moonlight
Part of my Aviation Art series

Aviation Art has really grown on me since the digital age especially after I bought Vue6 a year or so ago.
The "Operation Moonlight" scene was a fun project, one that took some experimenting with perspectives, lighting and post processing work it was produced with Vue6 Infinite and its included Lancaster Bomber model, post work was done in Photoshop.
The model was reproduced on a transparent surface as an ecosystem with some minor adjustments, next I set up the camera's perspective until I was satisfied, the moon and clouds were added next.
The lighting took a bit of time and adjusting but once finished it was rendered and sent as a JPG file to Photoshop to give it the platinum film finish seen here.
Bound
Another simple scene with Vue6

Originally the scene started as a desert and slowly took on another dimension altogether, something not uncommon with me.
The distorted vertical bars was actually a customized sand dune that I stood up against the selected cloudy atmosphere. Next I added a sphere and placed it halfway into the distorted bars, I then chose the dark texture for the bars it gave great contrast against the sky.
For the sphere I decided on water over glass because of it's density and magnification of the vertical bars, I then decided later to add the striped fish to compliment the bars.

Destiny the Metropolis
Part of my Destiny series

A simple city model scene created with Vue6 Infinite.
Several Dystopia models were used and plopped into the scene, the water texture was then added to the main ground terrain, trees were then plopped in along the beach areas on shore with Vue's brush tool.
Next the atmosphere was chosen and adjusted then the planet was added in.
The sail boat that is included with the program was then added and moved to the right side of the frame (opposite of the moons position) giving the appearance of viewing the city and planet from its deck.
The lighting and camera was then adjusted followed with the rendering process.
Jupitor Patrol
Part of my Science Fiction discovery series.

Being a sci-fi fanatic since I was kid and having a larger then life imagination, when I first looked into purchasing Vue6 Infinite and seen some of its capabilities I was star struck (pun intended) and decided it was for me.
Space scenes are one of my favorites to create they can either be very complex or very simple depending on what your wanting and how much time you want to spend.
This particular one is a very simple scene, I started by placing in the planet and moving it to different areas at first before deciding on its final resting spot.
Then the star was placed in and I immediately moved it to the opposite side of the scene to show balance and scale.
Next entered the Star Fighter model which was recently purchased through the Conucopia store, once placed in I realized it lacked light emissions from its exhaust ports so I put in a few spot lights from Vue moving and adjusted them accordingly. The star was a bit dull too so I went into the setting and added the blue streak and flare effect to it.
Once everything was in place I did some minor adjusting with the camera and sunlight (not visible), I then set it up for rendering.
Total time to create including rendering was about three hours.
Sand Bubbles
Some basic design concepts with Vue6 Infinite

Very rarely will you see such a combination of bubbles and sand sharing the same space, their relationships opposite in many ways but with some help of basic design principals the outcome becomes an interesting yet unusual image.
My thought was to make this a vertical piece since I was trying to get away from the standard desert landscape, by doing this your eye is focused vertically into the canvas. Next my idea was to make a wavy terrain in a vertical manner, I was able to produce this in the terrain builder within Vue, this gave me the lines and shadows I needed as the backdrop and the roadway for the eyes to follow.
Now I had to fill the canvas with objects but without clutter and keeping it as simple as possible which was one of my main goals with this project. Being I was in a spherical mood all week I placed one on the canvas and quickly moved it to the front closest to the camera while adjusting its size in accordance with the curved terrain giving it a nice harmonious flow. The second sphere was placed floating in the distance accompanied by its shadow to give a sense of depth, balance and weightlessness.
It took awhile for me to set the lighting the way I wanted since it would effect the terrain as well shadows and reflections whenever I tweaked it.
Now that I had set up the terrain and objects I tried a few different textures for the spheres the original being water filled but I didn't like the effect overall it seemed to compete to much with the sand dunes, that's when I decided to go with a glass texture for bubbles instead, this particular one being crystal. It worked out well twofold, one being it's magnification of the sand the other its reflection of the sky, once this was setup I had to tweak both the camera angle and lighting then run it through the rendering process to complete.

Universal Time
Unusual landscapes and worlds with Vue6

This strange project started as sort of a 3D doodle in a way, no plan just fun throwing things together for an unusual finish, perhaps not as popular as some of my works but worth taking your eyes for a stroll through.
I started off with a barren landscape and used the terrain builder to create the rocks, this gave me the idea and led the way of a planet timepiece once I placed it in the scene, next came the vertical part of the dial that was made from a spring model in Vue and a customized sphere with doughnut sides that I made within the program too, I felt it complimented the Saturn style planet behind it and the sunlight position added the necessary shadow needed for the sundial effect.
The sky with it's strange color added the mood while the planets and clouds gave balance. Now it was ready for the render and some finishing touches in Photoshop.

Dog Fight
Part of my Aviation Art Series

This image was a bit complicated and took some added effects by Photoshop (PS) and Paintshop Pro Photo (PSP) to produce the finish as you see it here.
The background sky and planes were out of the box in Vue, it took me a few hours to set the models in place and work with the lighting to get it where I wanted it. My main goal was to try making it as realistic as I can or as close to an old colored WW2 photo as I could. I also had to go through both the model plane files and find the propellers to adjust there transparency levels from its default 86% and change it to 96% making them barely visible.
Once it was setup I ran it through the rendering process making it a JPG file, I then opened it in PSP and added the look of the color chrome film used in those days with the programs "Time Machine" effect, also while in there I gave it the Depth of Field (DOF) by making the second plane a bit blurred, this gave it a great feel of movement, when finished I saved it as a JPG once again.
I then opened up PS with its airbrush tool and wiped the dust off of my Wacom Tablet, It was now time to add some custom effects, the first being exhaust smoke from the closest plane as this adds more sense of motion by connecting the space between the two planes also adding to its scale and distance, I then added the flames coming from the gun mounts on the wings of the second plane.
Now to add tracer fire, I originally tried long straight runs but quickly deleted them because it gave it more of an illustrative look rather then a photo realistic one, so after watching several WW2 air battles on TV over the past week I decided to give the tracers motion by adding squiggly lines and adding white tips on the front of them as if they were strafing through the air along with the planes movement.
This piece was a bit time consuming compared to some of the others but it gave me a chance to brush up on my Wacom Tablet and try a few tricks with PSP and PS as well.

Desert Morning
A touch of realism in landscapes with Vue6

This was a fun one though it took a few other programs to help produce it, it is rather simple in nature.
I sculpted the terrain while I was trying out a 30 day trial of GeoControl which is a terrain generator and editor program, giving it a western type look and then saving it. I then uploaded it into Vue and used it as the backdrop while trying different terrain textures until I found one that I liked.
The sky was a standard one in Vue but I ended up adding extra clouds and haze tweaking them in the process. Next was the position of the camera using the widescreen view and the suns position trying to balance the scene in the process. Once this was done I rendered it and saved it as a JPG file.
I then opened up Photoshop and tweaked the image levels completing the piece as you see it now.

Turbulence
Simplicity has its moments

A very simple scene using a rippled terrain recycled from my "Sand Bubble" piece.
I chose the widescreen camera view and added a water texture to the terrain, I then imported a sphere into the scene giving it a red colored texture to standout from the blue rippled water while adjusting its position and transparency levels in the scene.
A sky was added giving color balance and highlights to both the water and sphere.
It was then rendered as a JPG file and imported it into Photoshop for some minor corrections.
A simple but pleasing result.

Last Train to Destiny
Part of my imaginative Destiny series

Those who know me well enough know that "I love trains" and yes I even have a lens created with the same title, then there are some that know of my conceptual city called "Destiny" that I have been toying with over the years. Well this was my first attempt to tie both together in one scene, it is also happens to be one of my oldest pieces.
For this scene I used my MODO 2 modeling software (I'm not very experienced with it though it serves me for what i need it to do at times) and created the futuristic straight bridge needed for the scene, once finished I saved it as an OBJ file so I can upload it into Vue, next I used the electric train model that came packaged with Vue and opened its file to tweak the finish and to remove its wheels and its overhead electric connectors making it more of a mag train instead, once finished I saved it as a OBJ copy.
The whole idea was to create a futuristic scene one that would be dark and have the city play a small part in the distance.
The buildings were actually a terrain created in the Vue Terrain Generator and placed into the scenes background, once there I used a city light texture to give the city some life, being it is way out in the distance I didn't find the need for much detail.
I then bought in the bridge section and set it in horizontally but on an angle, it worked well this way because it shows the right side closest to the camera and brings your eye to the left side before it disappears out of the frame, your mind subconsciously knows it travels into the city.
So now it's time to set the mag train on to the bridge, once placed I adjusted the scale and distance accordingly, I then went and added the atmosphere and planet into the skies background, next was the flat water textured terrain that takes up half the image, I then again adjusted the lighting and added the head and tail lights to the tram using Vue's assortment of lights directing them in the direction of the tracks.
It was then rendered and saved as a JPG file, I then imported it into Photoshop for some quick corrections and adjustments.

Play Time
Part of the Surreal 3D series

This is one of my favorites and I had no idea where I was going with it until it was completed.
This very simple scene was produced entirely within Vue6 Infinite, the models of the window and clock came packaged with it.
I chose a low camera angle with this because I wanted objects floating, so I started with a simple atmosphere, I then dropped in the clock followed by the window and started to rearrange them, once I got them somewhat like you see it now I decided to drop a terrain in to fill the lower part of the scene and decided on adding a checkered texture, at this point I liked the reflection I was getting in the glass window so I skewed it until it filled the window pane completely. Now I had to work on filling the left side, I decided spheres would be best and gave them each crystal glass textures to pick up reflections, I must of spent an hour or so rearranging and adjusting their sizes until I felt it was somewhat balanced. The left sphere worked especially well because it simulated the clocks hand in a strange manor using the reflection of the window frames corner.
But there was still something out of whack with it, I felt color was needed to balance out the checkered terrain.
The clock originally had a black frame and hands with ivory numbers so I felt some bold colors in the clock structure could be used to add some extra balance, I then opened the clock's files and appointed new colors to the frame, hands and numbers. Next I tweaked the lighting and felt at this point it was complete, I then set it up to be rendered.
