Freelancer Game Review

Freelancer is a Space Simulation PC Game from Microsoft. When on the ground during game play the game takes on qualities of a RPG game. You go on missions to make money and progress in the story line. While traveling through space from one location to another is when you have fun with the space simulation part of the game. You have complete control over your space craft. The dog fights with the other ships in space are just awesome!

About Freelancer

Detailed Information On Freelancer (video game) From Wikipedia

I'm using Wikipedia because I'm just not very good with all the little details.

Freelancer is a space trading and combat simulation video game developed by Digital Anvil and published by Microsoft Game Studios. The game was initially announced by Chris Roberts in 1999, and following many production schedule mishaps and a buyout of Digital Anvil by Microsoft, it was eventually released in March 2003.

In the game, players take on the role of spacecraft pilots who fly single-seater ships, exploring 48 known star systems, and visiting planets and space stations in them. The player-controlled pilots can engage in combat with other ships to protect traders or engage in piracy themselves. Other activities include accepting bounty-hunting jobs and engaging in commodity trade. The single-player story centers on Edison Trent, as he goes through a series of missions to save the Sirius sector from a mysterious alien force. In multiplayer mode, players are free to take on whatever role and explore anywhere from the start.

Originally, Roberts promised features such as a multiplayer mode with thousands of players, automated flight maneuvers, and dynamic economies, but they were diminished in the final release. The game's initial technical demos impressed reviewers, but after the Microsoft buyout and Roberts' departure from Digital Anvil, critics had doubts about the game. Reviewers judged the final product technically good but failing to fulfill their initial expectations.

This game is so cool! It has a great story line that you can choose to follow or not. Of course it helps to follow the story line, but straying for a few extra bucks may be helpful sometimes.

In this game you play as this guy trying to make a living by taking on different missions. Did I mention it takes place sometime in the future in space? The real time space dog fights are really cool! Back to what I was saying... You end up caught up in some sort of conspiracy you may or may not decide to sort out.

This is a got to play game.
