Welcome to Ribbons of Rain - My Personal Poetry, Verses and Rhymes.
Welcome to my personal poetry. Some of my poems are innocent and tender, whilst other pieces of poetry are 'hard hitting' and 'discussion raising'. All of it 'matters' and all of my poetry is from the heart. Ribbons of Rain is a collection of personal poetry. Poems, verses and rhymes which I have written over the years. It's main focus is on people and their circumstances. With it comes some 'earthy' poems. People, nature and general observations of both.
It's not possible to include my entire collection of poetry in a single lens, it is therefore my intention to create more poetry lenses in the future.
You do not have my permission to use my poetry commercially. However, you may use it for personal (non profitable websites) PROVIDED you place the following at the foot of each poem: Written by Deborah Lowe. For more poetry by Deborah please visit http://www.squidoo.com/my_personal_poetry
I do hope you will enjoy the poems displayed on this lens and that you will keep a look out for more of my poetry on future lenses.
For me a poem is a very small book which tells a very big story.
Ribbons of Rain - Nature Poetry / Fantasy Poetry
From RIBBONS of RAIN - My Personal Poetry Collection
to silence talking from the hill side,
honour propels them with elegance and grace,
beneath tall trees of dripping lace.
Romancing 'round lily pads of silver threaded gold,
caressed by the heavens, buds unfold,
sun sprinkled stardust on the tow path does stain,
the sky in it's splendour holds ribbons of rain.

Boxed Up People - Homeless Poetry / Cardboard City Poetry
From RIBBONS of RAIN - My Personal Poetry Collection
shield us from dangers that live with us there.
Amidst broken bottles we fit with the trash,
the posh gentlemen passing us, choose to dash.
Embarrassed by our being there, with stare or smirk,
as upright and dignified they make for work.
No place to go, the streets we smear,
a truth from the city, one not to hear.
Famous in winter time with soup on the go,
TV News stars - boxed up in snow.
Criticsm anchors, abuse at our ears,
our simple existence, meets with their fears.
Do we have dignity? Do we have pride?
A pillar of society - one to hide.
We're landmarks of negligence, buried in strife,
we're hearts in boxes, parcelled for life.

A Lonely Man - Love Poetry / Hope Poetry
From RIBBONS of RAIN - My Personal Poetry Collection
Cutting with a knife, that has no blade.
A brainy man, who won -
the lowest grade.
Entering - as if you have been sucked in.
Sinking fast and deep, in solid sand.
A hard man, building hopes -
on taken land.
Sailing - on a lake that has no water.
Looking below for things only found above.
A lonely man, afraid to talk -
but asking for my love.
