I have all but the very first issue (the absence still gets under my skin). Friends of mine showed me their copy of issue #1 back in 2001 and I was hooked. To be fair, I love magazines to begin with... but, ReadyMade is just a perfect mixture of DIY, cool product info, art news and 'never heard of' stuff. Now up to issue #35 and counting, ReadyMade is showing their ability to grow, last and continue to inspire.

Another favorite magazine of mine, Interview is an all encompassing look at art, fashion, celebrity, music, and emerging artists of all realms. Started by Andy Warhol (a big influence of mine) back in the day, Interview holds up well to this day with a unique look at society in general. Other than art, the main feature in Interview is the fun twist on celebrity interviews. They interview each other! Often they are friends and the articles read like an intimate wire-tap!

Netflix Movies That I Recommend
Netflix changed our lives
These are movies and tv shows on our Netflix account list. We have very eclectic tastes. In general, sometimes it's the opposite, I like weird/foreign/indie/docs type stuff and my husband likes the classics. It overlaps quite a bit though and we've been pleasantly surprised by each other's choices.
I'm eternally grateful for Netflix. Being able to keep a list of movies is wonderful. Not having to go out to a rental place and try to remember what I wanted to watch only to find out they don't have it, having to tote the last minute grab back to the rental place, etc, etc is a huge, huge plus.
If you watch a lot of movies, want to rent tv shows that you've missed, and don't want any hassles while doing it... this is perfect. I can't say enough about them. We have the two at a time/unlimited for the month deal. We'd been watching a lot for a while there and basically were getting movies for $1.09 a rental!
Having a list (500 is the limit, but you can add more as you eliminate them.. if that makes sense) is soooo key for us. We've been able to find shows and movies we've been wanting to see for forever, but can't find in a rental place. You get recommendations based on your rentals and reviews. I have to say they've been pretty accurate. You can 'save' a movie that isn't on dvd yet and/or are new releases. You can change the order of the movies any time. You can share your list with friends, recommend to friends and write reviews of the stuff you've seen. I don't mean to go on and on, but seriously we've had an account for at least 4 years, probably 5 by now. It's essential for first time parents. Essential. If you know new parents, get them a gift subscription!
