Keeping the Family....so important for all of us

A little reminder to remember how important the family is to us.

She is now playing with angels....

Mom died 1 September 2009

I dedicate this to my beloved "Mutti", who drifted beyond the horizon, like a boat sailing into the sun. I lost her out of sight for now, but on the other side of that horizon, they rejoiced when she came in sight.
I know Ill see her again one day. But I miss you!!

My Wonderful Family

I dont know about you...but the older I get, the more I seem to charish my family.
I was uprooted many times in my life and lost my father at an early age.
To top it all, it seems like my family is made up of gypsies, cause they are spread all over the world!

Three Generations

Mom (96!) and my son Renè live here in town, so I lucked out on that!
I get to see mom 2-3 times per week.
René is pretty busy, but we phone, SMS and write emails. Every few weeks we see each other.
But there are others, that mean tons to me, that live so far away, that a visit is not something to take for granit.

Mom and me on her 95th birthday!

Blessed with Sister and Cousins

There is my sister Monika, her husband and two sons with families...they live a 3 hours drive away, in Leipzig, Germany. If I'm lucky, I see her 3 times per year.
Then there are my cousins, Alex and Delia, the twins, and ofcourse Al, Delia's hubby and her daughters, that live in the States!
My other cousin Michael lives in Linz, Austria, and his sister, my cousin Brita, is in Zurich, Switzerland.
Cousin Karin lives on Vancouver Island, Canada, with her hubby Jerry.
And my other cousins, Barbara and Claus are far away from me here in Germany. Their children are in the USA, on Curacao, and in Tunesia.

Michael and my mom this year!

Karin and Jerry with feathered friend

Pick up the Phone, it's so important!

I cant begin to tell you how much it means to me, when we get a chance to visit and catch up on things.
Some I see more, some I see less.
Im so grateful for planes, the internet and the telephone...it helps keep the contact alive.
I dont know about you guys...but FAMILY is a big thing for me.
Share as much time as you can with your loved ones. Be grateful if they are near you and you can see all the time.
Make an effort to stay in touch!
By the way...same goes for close friends!
We are nothing without our loved ones!

In retrospect, I know that I didn't call my grandmother Julia Nagy enough. She died before the advent of the internet, but I know she'd NEVER have had a computer. She stuck with that old rotary dial telephone until she died. Your lens if very dear. I've lensrolled this terrific lens to my Julia Nagy lens. Hope your family has a happy holiday season.
