The mid-60's saw many dance crazes and "cool jerk" was supposedly a sexier version of the "the jerk."

In late 1969 this Steam's song became the number one single on the billboard charts.


Oh this is interesting! The name Mungo Jerry was inspired by Munglejerrie and Rumpleteazer a poem by T.S . Elliot in which the broadway musical, Cats was based upon.

"Funky Nassau" became a #15 single in the U.S. Billboards hot 100 chart and reached #7 on the Billboard black single chart.

I like the animation best in "Kung-Fu Fighting!" I remebered everyone wanted to be some sort of Kung-Fu Hero! Martial arts was hot back then!"

"TSOP" is a timeless one hit classic! I still don't believe that this was their only hit. Remeber their instrumental version of "Summertime? Now that was hot!

Any one who was a teenager at this time can attest that the hustle was the greatest dance to come along. The 70's was a fun time especially in 1974 when "Do the Hustle" came out!

Actually, this Disco-Tex and the Sex-o-lettes had another hit besides "Get Dancing" and the other hit was "I Wanna Dance Wit' Choo." This group also had a large gay following due to the image of the lead vocalist.

A Fifth of Beethoven was a disco adaptation of some of the passages of the first movement of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. Who knew that these musical arranges would make this song a popular disco hit.

In 1976, both the single "Play That Funky Music" and the self-titled album, "Wild Cherry" went platinum.

Vicki Sue Robinson (May 31, 1954 - April 27, 2000) was associated with the disco era of the late 70s and was most famous for, "Turn the Beat Around."

Today, I'm going to hear Wild Cherry "Play That Funky Music" and go down to "Funky Nassau" in the Bahamas and "Get Dancing" at a night club and then I'm going to "Turn the Beat Around" and relax at the pool with a Chocolate martini and listen to a "Fifth of Beethoven."
