To get you off to a great start: Try citrus!
Seriously. Have you ever scratched some orange peel and sniffed it? Or lemon or grapefruit peel? That stuff has seriously mood-enhancing and stress-busting powers. And if you buy the fruit, you even get to eat the inside!
Check out my free ebook with more of tips like that: Free Stress Tips Report.
And it comes with a free subscription for my popular self help stuff newsletter with more tips and series of e-courses on things like the law of attraction and stress management and more.
What do YOU look for when you look for "self-help"?
Okay, it changes of course. Whatever your interest of the moment may be. But let's think for a moment: What kinds of books do you expect to be there? Probably not ones on bowling, though bowling could conceivably be quite therapeutic when you're stressed. Nor will there be books on sailing, even though sailing too takes you very much out of your stuff (especially if you're sailing on a small boat).
Well, here's some of what I'd be looking for:
Info on how to make my life happier, more relaxed, less stressful, more self-empowered, more enRICHed ;-) Yay to the last one!
That's my idea of self-help. And, well, the last one is not usually found in the self-help isle either, except for maybe the books directly related to the psychological aspects of money issues.
But they should be. Remember Maslow's hierarchy of needs? If the basics aren't met, you don't really get to the higher-level stuff. So that's a really important part of self-empowerment.
Steve Pavlina, my favorite personal growth guru has it right. He includes it in his blog and forum.

Here a couple of quick tips, gleaned straight from Abraham and then elaborated upon:
"Nothing is as important as that you feel good"
-- Abraham
What can we learn from this. No, this is not the manifesto of an egotist. Truth is, we're not much use to anyone, ourselves or others, if we don't feel good. So the number one thing we have to do is take care of ourselves:
Sleep well and enough hours for starters. If you don't get enough sleep... you know what happens.
Eat well, meaning give your body food with the nutrients etc. it needs.
Move. Give your body the exercise it needs to stay healthy.
And keep your vibrations high. For more on the latter, check out my free newsletter...

Oh, and you get a free ebook too with 404 self-help tips (or something else if you wait too long -- I might change the freebie).
