WHAT IF...

Drumroll please...
WHAT IF EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US BUILT A LENS FOR A SINGLE CHARITY ON THE SAME DAY?

Take a peek at all the lenses already particpating. Wow. Is yours there?

A FAVOR FROM SETH

Squidoo just hit 50,000 lenses. To celebrate, here's a challenge from us to you.

If every Squidoo member built just one new lens, today, we could help Room to Read build a new school in Vietnam or Nepal. And then another. And another. And another. Because your lens could just keep earning royalties, for free, forever.

Click on the BUILD A LENS button, right now, and invest 5 or 7 minutes to make a lens on Your Favorite Things. Or your 10 favorite books. Or movies. Or a holiday wishlist.

Then point to your lens from your blog or share it with a few friends. Then you're done.

Day in and day out, for weeks or months or years into the future, that lens will be earning pennies and dimes to support Room to Read.

Thanks, everyone.

GIFTS THAT GIVE BACK

What do your Favorite Things lists look like? Here are just a few from the illustrious Citizen Squids.

A LITTLE ABOUT ROOM TO READ

World Progress Starts With Educated Children
www.squidoo.com/roomtoread

"Room to Read partners with local communities throughout the developing world to establish schools, libraries, and other educational infrastructure. We seek to intervene early in the lives of children in the belief that education is a lifelong gift that empowers people to ultimately improve socioeconomic conditions for their families, communities, countries, and future generations."

IF YOU COULD ASK FOR JUST ONE THING

If you could ask for just one thing in life. A lucky break. A new ipod. Free college tuition. A pony. (Or, of course, world peace).

What would it be?

If I could ask for only 1 thing in life, that is Joy and Happiness. I want everybody to realize the true meaning of living.

If I could ask for only one thing it would be for the inner rhthym to never lessen and that artists are born.

I would love to see everyone send at least one unexpected greeting card in the mail EVERY day. A real greeting card, not an ecard. Make a difference in people's lives by letting them know you care. Send your free greeting card today at www.funsendingcards.com

Change lives one card at a time,
    Debbie

For squidoo to grow stronger - what an amazing idea! Filtering some ad revenue for something good for a change - putting your money where your mouth is (or putting your money where it's needed - in their hungry mouths...) - well done!

I'd ask to remain cancer-free, so I can be a "little ole grandma" one day.

If I could ask for just one thing. I think it would have to be, stop Ignorance. This takes on so many forms, from spritual to education and beyond. If I could end ignorance, in whatever form, I believe the world would be a much safer and happier place to be.
