This is Daiane, she is from Brazil and turned eight years old on our birthday, October 14th.

She lives with her mother, 1 brother, and 1 sister. Her mother takes care of the household and struggles to provide for the family. She lives in a semi-urban area. Houses are built of wood and are considered "shacks." I sponsor her through World Vision.
What I Want For Christmas...
A Better World
Daiane is one of millions of children all over this planet living in impoverish or starving conditions do to their family and village's lack of ability to support them. World Vision's name stands for it's idea -- to sponsor not just children but entire villages to empower them; to create a better world.World Vision works by making villages self-sustainable: building schools and clinics, teaching the adults to read, write and new work skills. They help them with tools and cattle to farm. They dig wells. All of this is done in order to make the villages self-supporting so that their is no longer a need to provide aid.
By sponsoring a child or donating needed tools and provisions you are working to build a better world for humanity. A better world is my Christmas wish.
