- I have been quilting for about 20 years. I have many more unfinished quilts than finished ones! Nice job on the quilt and the lens!

- Good job.. my quilts tend to be small "30 mph" pieces (as in... they look great if you are driving by at 30mph)

- I love to sew and I've made crazy quilts and t-shirt quilts and quilted small wall hangings in the past, but I've never made a full-size traditional quilt with the hand stitching. Some day I hope to.
I think your little "mess up" while assembling just gives your quilt that much more character. Congratulations on finishing your first!

- What a huge accomplishment! I still have not made my first quilt, but I sure hope to complete one. Quilts are such special heirloom gifts. It is touching that your daughter wanted your very first quilt for a Christmas present. That really says a lot. Makes it all worthwhile. Thanks for sharing your journey.

- I enjoyed your journey with your first quilt. It is lovely and I never would have guessed you messed up your intended pattern. That size of quilt was quite an undertaking for your first. My first quilt was a quilted pillow. You would have thought I hung the moon :)

- Well done on sticking with it! I started a quilt about 10 years ago but didn't get too far before giving up. Such hard work and I should have used squares instead of hexagons but you've inspired me to maybe take another look at it.

- Congrats, Marsha! It is lovely. I will keep returning to re-read. I've been so embarrassed to even show my progress on the first quilt (in 21 years) I just started. This is a really wonderful journal which has inspired me to document my progress.

- Congrats on completing your quilt. I read the lens throughout to know that were you able to complete ? Quilting does require infinite patience and it is really inspiring to know that you didn't even have prior experience. Enjoyed the virtual tour in quilting with the lens.

- Its funny reading this lens today. I have been procrastinating for a week on whether to do a quilting course at the local craft shop but have declined on the basis that I think I can do it without formal instructions. Seeing what you have done has confirmed my opinion. Well done. *-*Blessed*-* and featured on Sprinkled with Stardust

- Wonderful job! It is quite a journey when making one to decide how you want every square to look within the whole. I am currently working on one for my youngest granddaughter. Guess I need to make a lens on some of my quilts. Make mostly lap quilts now. Give you a 5*

- Nice to see the children get involved. It will be something they remember for the rest of their lives. I know, my mum was a quilter and I loved 'helping' her. She has been gone from us for a very long time and I still remember with love, the quilting parties. Thank you for writing about this. 5*s
