An Abundance of Gratitude

Every day for the last several years, I have actively practiced gratitude. First thing in the morning, and last thing at night, I make it my habit to make a list of the things for which I give thanks. Big, little, simple, complex, it doesn't matter. What matters is that I take the time to be grateful.

This practice has literally changed my life. Gradually, over time, I have become a different person. And...for that I am truly grateful!

Yes, one can be grateful for gratitude! And, isn't that a wonderful way to live?

Some of My Favorite Gratitude Quotes:

To educate yourself for the feeling of gratitude means to take nothing for granted, but to always seek out and value the kind that will stand behind the action. Nothing that is done for you is a matter of course. Everything originates in a will for the good, which is directed at you. Train yourself never to put off the word or action for the expression of gratitude.

...Albert Schweitzer

Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy -- because we will always want to have something else or something more.

...Brother David Steindl-Rast

Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.

...Buddha

To speak gratitude is courteous and pleasant, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live gratitude is to touch Heaven.

...Johannes A. Gaertner

If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, "thank you," that would suffice.

...Meister Eckhart

The best way to live in gratitude is to write in a gratitude journal

Make it special, and allow yourself the precious time to write

I keep a special journal next to my favorite chair, and another one next to my bed. These journals are a gift to myself.

Your journal should be something that compels you to write in it. Choose something that speaks to your heart and senses. Perhaps it has scrumptious paper, or beautiful images that inspire creativity.

Most of all, create a habit of writing in it. Next thing you know, you will be living a life of gratitude, and manifesting a joyful life!

Some people Choose to Write in Their Gratitude Journal by Way of a Blog

As you can see here, there are many ways to express your gratitude.

Living a life filled with gratitude enhances one's life. The changes wrought in the life of one person have a domino effect on each and every person making contact with them. This becomes a passive, yet powerful way to bring change and healing to a planet whose people live lives of hopeless desperation.

Are You Acting From Gratitude, Love, and Trust or Doubt and Fear? | Evolution Ezine
As human beings, we operate daily reflecting a wide range of emotions with a multitude of motivations fueling our behaviors.

All too often, we react emotionally to what others say or do. If our reactions are preceded by the emotions of fear, anger, or sadness, we forfeit our ability to act with personal power and effectiveness in lieu of a knee-jerk response. This reaction is all too often sourced in fear and low self-esteem. We may focus on what's wrong with us and our lives, fear being controlled, hurt, or taken advantage of.
