Introduction To Horse Racing Systems

Today, betting on horses has taken on a whole new dimension. Back in the 1800's betting on horses was a game of chance where the odds was just about as good as the odds on a roulette table.

Yet, the thrill and the excitement has not changed much in 200 years. Horse racing is alive and still as exciting as before. Today, the betting game has changed dramatically. Not only has technology changed the way races are run, but it has changed the very nature of betting itself.

Horse race betting has become much more sophisticated and for many it's become a full time "job" - earning them a full time income. You might wonder "how do they do that?" - especially if you've been on a losing streak and your best wins was modest at best.

Horse Racing Systems Explained

What is a horse racing system and what does it do...

Horse racing systems has been around for quite some time. It is basically a structured approach to gambling that uses set rules and methods to swing the odds in your favor. You can think of a system as a recipe - a way method of producing a certain result.

Although racing systems can't predict the future with a 100% accuracy, it's main purpose is not to be a crystal ball, but rather a structured set of rules that eliminates as much of your risk as possible.

In any given race, the odds are overwhelmingly in the favor of the bookmaker. Picking winners is hard and unless you have a system to eliminate some of the odds your chances of winning is very slim. This is the big difference between those who gamble on horses and those punters who applies some method to their madness.

Horse betting systems are predicated on statistical analysis and aims to identify and isolate specific circumstances when the odds are in the favor of the punter. Success leaves clues and by applying rigorous analysis certain patterns start to emerge that can help you identify winners.

When you isolate these circumstances and conditions that are common in MOST winning races and with MOST winning horses you can greatly improve your odds.

Think of it this way%u2026what if there were only 3 horses to choose from in a race? How much easier would it be to pick a winner?

Horse racing systems looks at a variety of factors and each system tends to have it's own set of rules and criteria. The most common racing systems looks at elements such as the horse's form, the jockey's form, the lane draw, the horses previous history and other immediate factors that can affect the outcome of a race.

Many of the modern horse betting systems are based on financial systems that are probably more at home in Wall Street than on the race track. Strategies like hedging and spread betting are borrowed from the world of trading and these have turned horse betting into more of a science than a gamble.

Betting Exchanges and Horse Racing Systems

How betting exchanges are/have changed betting on horse racing...

Betfair is probably on of the most popular betting exchanges and ever since betting exchanges sprang up on the internet, the world of sports betting has never been the same. A lot of people have won and lost fortunes on these betting exchanges.

A betting exchange is very much like stock exchange. You can think of it as a stock exchange for bets where the punters actually bet against each other. The betting exchange acts as a broker between the parties rather than a bookmaker.

Betting exchanges won't be possible without technology since the bets still have to be made. Hence, every "exchange" is also executed as a real bet and the exchange acts as the broker for that. The inner workings and legal implications are quite complicated, but these betting exchanges are fiercely regulated which makes it very safe.

In recent years betting exchanges like Betfair has become very popular with horse race betting and a number of racing systems work on the betting exchanges. Some even have software that automates the execution.

Old school punters are very much opposed to this form of betting, but the reality is that the popularity and success of Betfair is here to stay. It probably won't replace more traditional betting, but it sure will bring a new dimension to betting on horses - and a new method to make money from the races.
