Have you ever 'failed' at Network Marketing, or any kind of home business? I admit that I have. I ended up sinking close to $10,000 into Herbalife...about half of that was getting started and buying $4000 worth of products for a 'Supervisor' order...and the rest, my coaches/upline dragooned me into buying into their ridiculously-overpriced advertising coop ($500 buy-in gets you 5 leads, and you were supposed to buy 3 or more of these 'wheel slots'!).

I might have had about $5000 in income come in...but I spent countless hours calling my overpriced leads, calling my downline's overpriced leads, and training my downline, most of whom disappeared because they weren't making any money.

So you need not feel embarrassed in my company, if you have ever been unsuccessful in network marketing.

What Does it Take to Achieve Success With My Internet Business?

The financial fiasco with Herbalife taught me that although there IS a ton of money to be made with internet business, I needed to find the RIGHT business opportunity, and more importantly, the right Mentoring Group within that business to join.

A preliminary Google search revealed the Top-Tier Internet Businesses. Darren Gaudry's Passport to Wealth caught my attention immediately because of the products, which included a comprehensive suite of internet marketing software and resources, and the compensation plan: it is an Australian '2-up' plan, which means each new member you sign up will 'pass up' their first two sales to you, their sponsor. Their third sale, they keep 100% of the $997 profit.

Meanwhile, the two sales they passed up to you? Guess what...they both will pass up their first two sales to you too!! Do you see what I mean, about how you could just make a few sales yourself and still have lots of money flooding in?

Thus I began to do some serious research into Passport to Wealth...I was NOT about to get scammed again. Well, technically I didn't get scammed by Herbalife...it IS an amazing product, but I did feel that my mentors ripped me off by selling me $4500 in 'wheel slots' that cost $500 a piece for a lousy 5 leads, who were little better than flipping through the phone book. Seriously, I had leads who thought they were applying for a job at a doctor's office...

So I searched every work-at-home forum and ranking site that I could find for details about Passport to Wealth. I was looking with a critical eye, for some little piece of negativity that would dissuade me from spending $997 to join.

I didn't find it. Instead, I found some incredible testimonials from real people who had been taught how to Earn Money Online by the Passport Mentors4U team.

I will now share with you the pros and cons of the Passport to Wealth business opportunity. Let's start with the cons.

Passport to Wealth Cons a) $997 to invest --Although this isn't so much of a barrier now, with the $600-$1200 tax rebates on the way as a result of the Economic Stimulus Plan, in the past this investment requirement could make it difficult for many aspiring entrepreneurs.

b) 2 Sales to Qualify --With Passport to Wealth, you pass-up your first two sales to your sponsor. Although this isn't actually a 'cash' expense, that is still $2000 that you are passing up to get qualified. Of course, if you can get two sales, you can get more...it's not the money itself that has the value, but the skills that you gained in the PROCESS of getting those first two sales.

Passport to Wealth Pros a) No Phone Calling Required Coming from Herbalife, where the modus operandi is to 'Call your leads 3-4 times per day', it is SUCH a relief that I don't have to talk to people on the phone anymore. You can either have Professional Sales Associates (PSAs) call your prospects for you (for a commission on the sale), or if you join the Passport Mentors4U Team, the leaders call your prospects for you for FREE, as a service to members.

b) You have an automated system which will sort, educate and close your prospects WITHOUT you...you just have to fill your marketing 'funnel' by driving traffic to your website, and the system will have sales dropping out the other end. This works through a Lead Capture page, where prospects leave their details and go on to view the 14-minute Passport to Wealth video presentation, and then receive a series of educational autoresponder emails that also include free gifts and digital products to help your prospect make the decision to start the business.

c) The compensation plan is structured such that once you are qualified, each sale puts $997 in your pocket right away . If your downline is serious and motivated to Earn Money Online, they will succeed and pass up their first two sales to you, for another $2000 of pure profit for you. If your downline are bums and don't do anything or follow the instructions, then you still made $997! This solves the problem of spending countless hours trying to train your downline in the hopes that someday they will make sales and recover your advertising costs that you spent to recruit them!

d) Free Trial You can actually sign up for a free trial with Passport to Wealth and see the back office, access some of the products and software, and kick the tires so you really *know* what you are getting yourself into! Most of the other top-tier Internet Businesses wouldn't even TELL you about the details or the products unless you first paid an application fee!

So, there are the pros and cons of the Passport to Wealth business opportunity itself...and although that might SOUND excellent, I tell you that it is still not enough. I had learned the hard way from Herbalife that even more important than WHAT business opportunity you join is WHO you join with!

It doesn't do you any good to have a powerful automated marketing system that can make sales while you sleep...if you don't know how to get interested prospects to your website!

So after diligently researching the business, I began researching the Passport to Wealth mentoring teams with equal diligence. I continued to dig, Google Search, and investigate. I felt that I had learned very little in terms of network marketing from Herbalife, so this time I was going to choose which team I joined. I interviewed three potential sponsors, from the Passport Mentors4U Team and the Passport Gold Team.

The Passport Gold Team seemed to have LOTS of help for new people...but only until they made their first two sales. After that, you were removed from the rotator and on your own for marketing. This sounded like the exact OPPOSITE of what I wanted...I didn't want anyone making my first two sales for me and then leaving me, because it was the SKILLS to create the first two sales that I needed, not the sales themselves!

The Mentors4U team, lead by Megan Vaillancourt and Stephanie Sammour, built their business around that exact principle. These two stay-at-home moms make incomes that make my own executive salary from my day job seem like chump-change.

I don't want to brag or make silly claims of my income, but to give you an idea, go to Google and type in 'MyInternetBusiness', and click on the 'Groundbreaking News...' ad (right now it is number three on page 1). Generating strong traffic sources is critical to the success of your internet business. No matter how strong your sales page is, how effective your close, or how wonderful your product is, if you don't have traffic, no one knows it. And if no one sees your product, no one will purchase it.

The quality of your traffic is also paramount. Low quality traffic such as guaranteed traffic, exit traffic, pop-up traffic, or pop-under traffic generally produce very low returns. My favorite source of traffic is article-writing and submission. With article writing and submission, you will write articles related to the topic of your online product, and submit these articles to various article directories. The article directories publish your articles, and webmasters can publish your articles on their web sites and in their ezines and online newsletters. When an interested buyer reads your article, they can click through to your site via a link you will place at the end of the article (just like you should do when you finish reading this article). You will direct the reader to your web site, which will promote your product.

Done correctly, this form of traffic generation is extremely effective.

So, how do you do it?

1) Write an article about a topic that would interest your typical purchaser. For example, in this case, my typical purchaser is looking to make more money online. 2) Include a section at the end of your article that tells the reader a little about you and your expertise. In this section, include a clickable link to your web site, so that interested readers can click through to your web site to learn more about you and your product.

3) Submit your article to some of the major article directories. Type in "article submission" or "article directories" into your favorite search engine to find a list of directories.

4) Start the process over again. Write many articles and submit them to many directories. Keep in mind, you are not the only person writing articles online; in fact, in the last few months, article writing has had exponential growth.

5) Once you have submitted your articles to a number of directories, you should begin to see a dramatic increase in traffic.

However, there had been a problem with illegal music download in which artists, musicians and record companies have lost millions of revenues.

A third way to add audio to you blog or website is to stream music through organizing playlists. Playlists are m3u files, which if downloaded, will not play music if offline. Using this process, however, can be complex. Here is a short instruction on how to do it.

1. Save your mp3 or wma file on the server. You may skip this step if you know that the file exists on another server and know the link to that file. Make sure that the link has a .mp3 or .wma extension.

2. Open your text editor and type the path to the file. Include the http:// and the file extension. Repeat this step until you have included all the links to the files that you would like to be included in the playlist.

3. Save the playlist with a .m3u extension.

4. Upload the m3u file on the directory where the music files are hosted or to your server.

5. Open your html editor and embed the link to the m3u file. Through this, you can also set if you want to have the playlist to autoplay if someone visits your site of if you want your visitor to control playing the music. You can also set the volume level.

After the code is embedded on the html file, and whenever your site is visited, the songs in the playlist will be buffered, streamed and played one after another. If your playlist has several songs, the user can skip forward or go back a song in the playlist using the media player controls.

Doing this setup works for many website owners. Through this you can customize the type of music being played on your site. You can even play recordings related to your product to boost product awareness.

It requires knowledge of html to be done. But if it will be the best way to increase traffic to your site, why not request assistance from programmers. After all, having audio on a website is a proven way to increase sales.

A quick update on our progress of our web hosting move and upgrade.

Yesterday we had shared with you that we were waiting to move into some larger, more powerful webservers and as a result the system had been take offline.

The reason the servers were needed, was, quite frankly, due to the amount of traffic going to our MyInternetBusiness. This combined with the massive amount of streamable training videos and content in the upgraded back office caused a load our original servers just could not keep up with. The servers would be up for a short period, then, as the load increased, they'd go down again.

As a result our web host had to bring in some "big dog" servers to handle the demand. The move into these servers started last evening, EDT and continued all night.

We're extremely close to turning the switch back on, as our programmers have been configuring and testing the new systems all night.

We're keenly aware you're axious to get back to marketing, training and your business and we apologize for the outage; it just could not be avoided, but when we come back online, your wait will be worth it.

Some of you may have seen the site(s) have not been up 100% as they were prior
to this latest enhancement and we thought we'd give you a status and let you know when we expect to be complete.

As you have probably learned the technology driving the servers in Your Internet Business (MyInternetBusiness) are head and shoulders in sophistication and optimization about anything else that's out there. Separate servers for products, videos, databases, recording, you name it.

Additionally, there is the factor about you. Yes you, and what you do. You see, we already had a pretty amazing internet traffic ranking. That's where you come in. Everyone you've shared this business, its products and model with; in short the buzz out there.

Well, that buzz was not what our new host had anticipated as well as the sophistication of all the functionality of the systems and the short story is ..when everyone came looking to see what this business was all about this week, the capacity, volume and sheer hits our servers took was too much for even what was planned. As a result, they have not been up 100% and our new data center has been trying to keep up.

However, the good news is, they've upgrade all of our capacity, processing and bandwidth, which meant %u2026still, bigger servers. These new, big boy servers are supposed be delivered tomorrow and configuration on them will begin immediately.

So, starting tomorrow we should see a steady, measurable increase in speed, access and uptime.
As we're marketers ourselves, we are keenly aware of the situation and literally have people working round the clock. The dedication and commitment is quite amazing. 1) Your Internet Business just gave you more options.

You know that your business is about you branding yourself, marketing yourself, selling your products and services and
also, also about selling amazing packages like your Bronze,
Silver, Gold and Platinum product suites.

Regarding you branding yourself, you can and should complete your "Meet your Inviter" page in your back office. (Found under "My Websites", "Manage My Tour", "Meet Your Inviter Setup".
You can and should follow the directions and get this set up, It will put more sales in your pocket.

But ... You can also go your "Manage Tour Videos" section which was just added. In this section if you want to put your own video up on your tour pages, you can. Tell your prospects what you like
best about the compensation plan, the products or congratulate them when they are about to request a call back. All ... from you!

We've seen people do this and their sales are skyrocketing.

Now, some of you may not want to put a video up of yourself, for whatever reason. No problem. Your business is about your decisions.

What do you do, when you don't want to do something yourself?
You outsource it to someone who will do it for you.

That's where we come to the spokesperson part. You now have a professional spokesperson as a default for your "Manage Tour Videos" section.

This is the default, but you can replace any of these videos with ones of yourself, or if you prefer no videos on your pages, you have that option too.

No other business has anything that even comes close to this little technique.

2) Next item, a bit of a business item. Remember this is a direct sales company with overrides and invoices.

We have an invoicing system not found anywhere else. It tracks everything for you and makes all payments and receipts to you ... virtually automated.

Regarding, the "virtually" part, some of you have sent tickets to support regarding override payments that are due to you from someone on your team. These must be paid. For now, this has been completely on the honor system, with little reminders telling you, you have invoices to be paid or marked.

There are a few (very few) associates, you will know who are, as most follow the guidelines, that have been behind, with invoices. We're quite certain this is just an oversight, so please address this.

Shortly, we will automate this invoicing process further with a program that will take steps to disable websites if overrides are not paid timely. For almost all of you, this is of no consequence as your payments are timely.
But remember, you have 7 days from the time you receive funds to pay all of your invoices. Beyond that time, you may be notified and you run the risk of having your site disabled and loosing your status as an associate as well as your team.
