To me MLM doesn't mean Multi-level Marketing - it means Many Lose Money! I speak from bitter experience here - I've lost mega-moola over the years while working my buns off and alienating friends and family and strangers when I ran out of friends and family. I never made a nickle, and I spent a LOT of money on over-priced products and even more on books and tapes that were supposed to teach me how to earn money instead of spending it.

So why, you ask, did I join Jerky Direct, and why have I enjoyed the past 5 years in it so much?

Two reasons: wholesale priced jerky, and I haven't lost a penny!

Oh, I just thought of a third reason, too: offering a sample of jerky hasn't alienated a single friend or family member! yay!

My family loves jerky -- it's darned expensive in the stores, and the quality can vary so dramatically -- one's too salty, one's got mold, one's so tough you could break a tooth ... getting a consistently GOOD bag of quality jerky is hit or miss in the stores. And don't even let me get started on the prices!

So about five years ago I got a taste of some Jerky Direct jerky. OMIGOD! Talk about DELICIOUS!!!

I can still remember how GOOD that first taste of high quality jerky was, and how astonished I was at that. But ... it was being sold via an MLM, and I absolutely HATE MLMs. So I bought jerky and kept looking at the concept. I kept thinking there HAS to be a catch somewhere. If there was, I never found it, and finally after about 6 months, I joined Jerky Direct. Five years later, I'm still lovin' it.

Here's how it works:

I pay $13.97 a month to purchase 2 bags of jerky on auto-ship. Unlike previous things I have done (can you say vitamins, water filters, and soap?) my two bags of jerky get eaten the day they arrive so they never pile up around my house. (Hey, want some soap or vitamins? I'm having a garage sale, LOL)

I'm a happy camper because I would spend more than that buying crappy store jerky anyway, so already it's a win-win for me, but it gets better.

I can buy all the jerky I want at wholesale prices.

WHOLESALE PRICES! WOO-HOO!!! To a jerky eater, that's like GOLD.

I can use it myself, give it as gifts, sell it any way I want to. (Speaking of which, a couple of years ago, I started buying jerky by the case and taking it to a local farmer's market. It has done fairly well as a product for my vagabond vending, and remains one of the ways I benefit from being involved.)

On top of all that, though, I have a fully automated web site with a shopping cart that will let my customers go and order their jerky directly from my website and when my commissions are greater than my monthly jerky bill of $13.97, I get a check in the mail.

I LOVE getting a check in the mail!

Of all the business ideas I've experimented with over my lifetime (and I'm no spring chicken, my friend) Jerky Direct is the best one I've experienced.

Don't take my word for it, though -- get some jerky and taste it. It will amaze you.

Vegetarians might find this part squeamish, if they read this far, but one of the major reasons Jerky Direct is such a healthy choice is that the company is responsible for the cattle from conception to harvest. They don't buy beef for their jerky, they raise their own stock so that they have total control over what the animal eats, and they don't use hormones or antibiotics, nor do they finish the beef on corn. All of these factors affect the quality of the finished product, and this is just one of the reasons Jerky Direct can offer a totally organic line as well as the more traditional varieties.
