pelican of mykonos - peter pelecanHis name is Peter the Pelican ! For 50 years now is crawling around the alleys of Mykonos town, being another attraction of the island of Mykonos! Feed me, hug me, kiss me!

Actually Peter the Pelican ( the first) has passed away may years ago, and then was substituted with Peter the Pelican II. Today you will find three pelicans wandering around the alleys of Mykonos town, two of which are female.

The exteriors of Cycladic buildings are simple and unembellished, whitewashed, with only a few windows and a particular kind of roof, which comes in 3 variations: inclined, pitched or vaulted. This made Cycladic houses resemble to white cubes!

    I visited Mykonos in the 1970s,The island is beautiful, but even in those days it was very busy, too busy in fact. I wonder what it is today, as I have never been back

    Great Lens, made me wish I was there now!

    I haven't been to Mykonos before, but have been to both Ios and Naxos as well as the Greek mainland and loved every trip. For another island holiday, you could also try Malta, it has a similar feel to some of the Greek islands: here is my lens on the Best Beaches in Malta
