My Lot by Yahoo - Community Site That Pays You!

There seem to be a lot of discussions going on. We do like the layout and the concepts.

It is great that you can tag your discussions, and even your posts.

We like that you can put live links in your posts... look for recommendations on this below.

When you comment on a discussion, my lot will ask you if you want to add that category to your interests. This can be relevant or not... we've found both.

Oh, and the spammers are rampant... wouldn't you know some will try to get paid for comments like "Great one!" on a joke post.

Overall, we like the whole idea... and we've commented on a few discussions. We recommend you try it for yourself if you haven't yet.

And we have some suggestions for you, below...

Join My Lot and Try It For Yourself

Ok, folks... here's the skinny as we see it on how to use My Lot to get the word out about Squidoo... or really any site that you want to promote.

For Squidoo:

Step One: go to My Lot

Step Two (a): If you haven't signed up, do it now.

Step Two (b): Once you are signed up, go to the search box, click Discussions above the box, then type Squidoo in the box.

You will see a list of current Squidoo topics. Some are asking for you to rate their lenses, some want to know what Squidoo is all about, and some want tips on improving their lenses.

Step Three: Post to those discussions that you have relevant comments on. If you have a lens that gives an example then link to it, as we did here:

We looked at her lens, gave appropriate suggestions, and gave her an example to look at.

This should not only result in her looking at our lens, but probably others will also follow the link to see what we are talking about, and it gives us a link that can be spidered by the search engines.

This is a great way to get the word out about your lens.

You can also do a search for your specific topic.

For example the above lens that we reviewed was on gardening.

Just do a gardening search in discussions, make a relevant post and include your lens link as a resource with more information. (Of course your lens has to actually HAVE more information.) :D
