My Pet Trader

I am a huge animal lover and I would love to be able to donate to every animal shelter and every animal rescue center across the country however, that is just not possible. So, I've done the next best thing. I have joined a team who developed the website www.mypettrader.com specifically designed for animal adoption and supplies. We have made the site 100% free for all shelters, rescue centers and breeders to list every animal they have for adoption. We wanted to make a difference by making it simple to get the word out about all of the animals across the globe that are in need of good homes. I hope you will take the time to check out the site as we strive to make a difference and give each and every animal the best chance possible for adoption. Remember if you are looking to adopt a pet or you have a pet in need of adoption check us out it's 100% free!

Abandoned Foreclosure Pets

Who Will Take Care Of Abandoned Foreclosure Pets

Foreclosure Magazine
By Jason | May 19, 2008

It's a disconcerting outcome of the increasing incidents of foreclosures that more and more pets are being abandoned by their owners. Some homeowners are considerate enough to dump the pets off at animal shelters. However, due to overcrowding at these shelters, about 50% of all incoming animals are being put to death. But some homeowners aren't even human enough to leave their pets at the shelters!

Abandoned Foreclosure Pets

These pets, who are the casualty of repo homes, are left indoors many a time and that too without food or water. Dog health care experts say that a dig gets dehydrated within 24 hours due to lack of water and extreme heat can kill him/her in 2-4 days. Much like humans, pets such as dogs and cats can survive without food for days but are most likely to die quickly due to lack of drinking water.

I have questioned many a time, how these homeowners are unremorseful about abandoning their pet to die a slow and agonizing death. Their insensitivity and lack of compassion can be distressing. But there is much you can do to help these stray pets. Adoption. You and many like you can adopt these abandoned pets and give them a new and healthy home and a new lease of life!

If you have a foreclosure homes in your neighborhood, physically visit the property, once the owner has moved out, to check if any pet/s have been left behind indoors or in the backyard. If you find one, make a call to the local humane society to get more information on ways to rescue the pet. In case you don't want to inspect the vacated foreclosure yourself, ask your local real estate agent to inspect the property for any abandoned pets.

if you won't speak up for these helpless pets, who will? Think about it!

CBlue's absolutely right. I only adopt from shelters. Abandoned pets are as sweet as any others you'll find.

My husband thinks we have too many pets, he says he feels like he's living on a farm. I like to convince that we have more than enough room and love for another. :)

Everyone should go to their local humane society and adopt a abandoned or lost animal before considering buying one! You may not get the pup you want, but you'll certainly have a new loving friend that respects you more than ever for giving them a new home and probably a better life. I donate some of my time to the local human society walking dogs and such. I've never met so many nice dogs. Many are still so young and full of life. Unfortunately there's not enough people adopting them to keep up with the amount coming in. Don't forget about the cats too! Adopt and save a life.
