Walk with me, in my Secret Garden

My Secret Garden is a place Within that inspires me to create. It can be, drawing, sewing, cooking, painting, writing, making herbal products or studying. It could be planting my garden, listening to some nice soft music or sitting and drinking a cup of tea with a friend. It could be watching a good family movie with my husband and not saying a word during the whole thing. The list is really endless...

It is that one place within where you can be completely satified, feel tranquil and serenity all together. A place where you do not mine being alone because you enjoy who you are to the core of your being. It is a safe place where nothing can hurt you or make you sad. You can completely be who you are without worrying about anything going on around you. Do you have a Secret Garden?

This lens is about some of my favorite things that I do while in my Secret Garden. It does not matter if I am alone or with someone I care about, I can still reach inside and be in that wonderful place within.

I created this picture when my husband first introduced me to "Graphic Arts". Even though today my experience with working on Graphic Arts has advanced, the feeling of what this picture represents to me, still lives strongly in my heart.

I really want to know...

Loading poll. Please Wait...

Come on up and have a seat next to me, there is room.....

I am not a real talkative in person. I adore my quiet time a lot! I am somewhat of a hermit (in some people's eyes) but I am by no means rude or snobbish. There are plenty of times I enjoy sitting with a friend and having a cup of tea, with a new mixture that we created together. A friend and I did this just the other day, our tea combination was: Rose Petals, Bergamot and Spearmint. It tasted great!

I can sit and talk for hours about Spiritual and Nature things, but after doing that I sort of go into my Secret Garden and sit with everything for a while; it is almost like I listen to a spiritual tape recorder replaying what we had just talked about! The one thing I HATE doing and will not do, is argue about beliefs. I will not debate anyone beliefs with them, and I certainly do not push my path onto anyone. I believe with all of my heart that our spiritual path is our own Individual Journey.

I love to write

type=textWriting for me is like doing a piece of art. Of course there are mistakes, errors and a lot of imperfections but nothing is perfect when you are pulling it out from deep within. I write exactly the way I talk. This is not excuse but the truth with me, my mind thinks faster than my fingers can type or my mouth can speak (laughs) just another lovely trait of being a Double Aquarius.

I have decided to change this lens completely, to reflect some of my poetry. Some of it may make sense, some may not but through it all, I understand what it means. Many times I will be doing journal writing and out of the blue, a poem will manifest. I love when that happens so much because it almost feels like Divinity is saying, "Here maybe you can understand the message if it is in a poem."

A Crow's Song
©WhiteOak-2002

Gentle sound of the Crows call-
Is trying to filter through my thick walls
I am trying to hear each note of your song
I know you are sending me messages of where I belong
But I cannot understand the words today
My human ears have become afraid.

The Apache Elder's words echo's in my ears-
"Feel beyond words, and you will hear"
Even those words seem muffed today-
I feel so lost and so afraid
Do the Guardians still see me as their Child?
Please I want to hear your song, I want to dance and smile.

There was once a time when I soared beneath your wing-
As I flowed to each note that you sing
I remember seeing you along the road as I drove
Honoring your grace with the magic as you guided me to the grove
But now your black eyes-
Have only become mirrors of my own inner cries

My spirit aches to be with you as you fly
Moving your wings with such grace, soaring through the sky
You have always taught me what is really true
Now my spirit has become trapped inside a solid igloo
I know I need your medicine, Brother Crow
Chaos has taken my power and wrapped me with no hope.

Ancient Songs

type=textAncient Songs
©WhiteOak-2002

Whispers from the Ancient Songs,
Speak of stories of things yet to come.
Guidance from my guardians old and wise,
Help me find the doorway to the dimension where I can fly.
Ancient Spirits wrap me in your unconditional love,
Give me strength from your dimension above.

Gentle moments of comfort is sent in times of need,
From our elders who have crossed over or so it seems.
Fear lingers all around me,
Stopping me from moving forward, I feel rooted as a tree.
Bound to my own loneliness, caged by my own convictions,
To my higher self I need admission.

Yet I hear soft whispers from the Ancient songs
That helps me with my journey although the road is long.
Chant your song lightly in my ears,
Cast me free from all of my fears.
Only you can help me break down my walls,
That keeps me bound and locked within it all.

Echoes

type=textEchoes
©WhiteOak-(12-2008)

Whispers echoes in my ears-
The first reaction is a kind of fear.
Whispers from yesterday gone by-
There are only remnants of questions leftover, why?

Whispers echoes in my ears-
As I feel my eyes fill with tears-
Whispers from tomorrow yet to come,
Lingers in the stillness to belong

Whispers echoes in my ears-
Why do these illusions feel so real?
Whispers from long ago-
Expresses what you wanted me to know.

Whispers echoes in my ears-
My emotions are building many tiers.
Whispers from you are becoming faint,
The words seem as if they are being restraint.

Whispers echoes in my ears-
Today I see this very clear,
Whispers from our subconscious mind,
Are reminders there is never enough time.
Every moment must be counted,
It is a linkage in life and deserves to be surmounted.

Turbulent Waters

type=textTurbulent Waters
By: WhiteOak (09-2008)

Turbulent waters are running fast-
Trying to catch up with emotions that soon will past.
Cool crisp mornings that are filled with comfort and joy-
While the rest of the day feels very coy.

Sitting against a tree-
I wait to see if the turbulent waters will ease.
Moonlit skies in the night-
I wait patiently for Dreamtime to take me into flight.

Dreamtime takes me to a place of peace-
Where everything turbulent comes to a cease.
Dreamtime is a place of total joy-
Most of the time, unless you open the door.
The door that holds back the turbulent emotions you try to escape from-
Where nothing is worst, than your dreamtime becoming numb.

Black holes trying to cover emotions that are terrifying and weak-
I am not the type to be silent and meek.
So where is the balance in the turbulent waters for me?
I try to allow what is, to be.
But the rushing of the turbulent waters move real fast-
Upon a still inner peace who only wants to last.

Run Away From Me

type=textRun Away From Me
©WhiteOak-October-2009

The breeze is dancing through the trees today
Embraced together in a slow sway-
Chillness fills the air it is crisp
Stronger the breeze continues to wisp

Caught up in an emotional roller-coaster
Waiting for it to stop
Round and round it goes
Will it stop, nobody knows

Running faster and faster away from my own self
Trying to find peace that lies on a shelf
Riddle me this and riddle me that
Actually I feel I am stuck in tree sap

Will I ever be able to catch up with me?
Or will I always be swimming in the giant sea
No two days are ever the same
Really there is no one to blame

Just as the breeze dances through the leaves
And the waves continues to form the coral reefs
Forever I believe
I will run away from me

If I listen to my own drum beat
I can hear the ancient songs of my own defeat
Of the runaway games I have always played
Just as no two days are the same, will it always be this way?

I See You

By: Eva Thomas aka WhiteOak

I see you hiding within the shadows of your mind,
You're sitting in a corner as if you were blind.
You are wearing a blindfold so you will not see,
The whole you needs nurtured like a seed.

I see you hiding within the shadows of your mind,
You are afraid all of the time.
You are clinging to the memories of the past,
Hoping and Praying that they will last.

Within the shadows of your mind,
For now you feel safe and all that is left is a bitter rind.
But what happens when the memories disappear
And you only have this moment and no more tears?

Are you content in your darkened world?
Where color is absent and often cold
Can you no longer find happiness when you swirl,
As you once did as a little girl?

I see you hiding within the shadows of your mind,
There are some days I see you fight for more time,
But more than often these days,
All I see is you wasting away.

I see you waiting to disappear, within the shadows of your mind,
You cannot find anything to hold on to that is solid and will bind.
Is there anything that anybody can do?
To truly help you

I do not know how to bring you into the light,
I cannot even help you with your fight.
If you remain in the shadows of your mind,
Nothing will exist not even time.

My Family of Trees
WhiteOak- © 2011

As I was walking through the woods today,
I felt the connection we have in a special way.
I walked into an orb of tranquility and peace,
I was able to feel your softness like a gentle fleece

As I was walking through the woods today,
My spirit did a gentle sway.
I took in your essence and felt the comfort,
Without you I only feel discomfort.

There is something unique and comforting as I walk the trails,
Something I have experienced since I was a little girl, like a fairy tale.
You fill me with a sense of protection and an unconditional love;
That fits my soul like a soft glove.

As I closed my eyes and felt your gentle breeze,
Everything heavy in the world lifted from me.
I felt when you helped me to remember,
When I am in Nature, I am with my true family members.

Thank you for the beauty, comfort and love you give to me,
Giving me confirmation with your gentle breeze.
Thank you for the special songs you sing to me,
Something only you can give to me, my family of Trees.

Beautiful photos, beautiful poetry. I'm considering publishing some of my poems singly online or possibly in a book--just considering--I still don't know if I have the nerve. Yours are great! Lovely lens!

I'm bookmarking this for inspiration and encouragement to shamanic journeyers who visit Shamanic Shift Center seeking their secret gardens.

When it comes to special Valentine's Day commenting, I say: You now show up in my mind as a long-appreciated encourager and inspirer here on Squidoo. You were one of the first to connect with me and comment on my lenses (invitingly) -- and your lenses have been instructive examples ever since.

This lens is wonderful, too -- poetry is one of the sublimest ways of shamanic shifting -- so here I find yet another of your lenses to love -- THANKS for crafting it -- & HAPPY Valentine's Day!
