In Depth Views from a TRUE Panther Fan

Growing up I was actually a Green Bay Packer fan.  I loved them, and was a huge Brett Favre fan.  But in 1995 that all changed with the emergence of the Carolina Panthers.  I kind of tried to follow both teams at first, but found my self rooting more for the Panthers than the Packers.  In 1996 the Panthers met the Packers in the NFC Championship game.  It was all over after that.  I realized that I had moved on from the Packers and only cared for the Panthers.

Panthers All Time Starters

  • I thought it would be fun to make an all-time starting roster for the Panthers. Even though they havent been around that long, they have had alot of talent come through.

QB- Steve Beuerlein He was the toughest and most consistant QB Carolina ever had. It was a shame to see sent to Denver, he had a couple of good years left in him.

RB- Stephen Davis Davis was the first and only big time back that Carolina ever had. He was a big reason Carolina Made it to the Super Bowl.

FB- Brad Hoover The "Rudy" of the Panthers, Local guy who has made a big impact on this franchise. Has turned into a really good FB with good Blocking skills.

WRs- Steve Smith and Mark Carrier I think Smith was an obvious choice here. the second one was close between Carrier and Muhammad. The dropped passes hurt Muhamad here.

TE- Wesley Walls Can't Have Beuerlein without his favorite target. he had 44 TDs as a Panther, which is tied for first among all Panthers

Offensive Line- Jordan Gross, Mike Whale, Jeff Mitchel, Matt Elliot, Blake Brockermeyer

DE- Julius Peppers and Reggie White- Julius Peppers is a freak. Even though White was only here his last year, he was still a dominant force.

DT-Khris Jenkins and Greg Kragen Jenkins is an all around great talent. Kragen was a great run stuffer.

OLB- Kevin Greene and Will Witherspoon Kevin Greene was a sack Machine, he had 41.5 sack in 3 years with the Panthers. Witherspoon had a good nose for the ball, hauling in 7 Interceptions while with the panthers, which is tied for the lead among Carolina LB's.

MLB- Sam Mills Was a smallesh LB, but didnt play like one. He was always in or around a play. After he retired he became a great LB Coach for Carolina.

CB- Eric Davis and Ken Lucas Davis is Carolina's Interception leader with 25 in 5 years with the panthers. Lucas has good coverage skills and is good in run support.

Saftey- Mike Minter and Marlen McCree Minter is truly a professional on and off the field. Is Known around the league for his BIG hits. McCree seemed to always be in the right place at the right time. If you did catch the ball on him, you would get rocked.

Coaching Staff- John Fox, Jack Del Rio, Dan Henning(Not Much to Choose from here)
