Profile and Account Management Starting Out

After you first sign up with MySpace, you should have received an email with a link that you need to click to verify your account. Just click it and enter the site. Afterwards, just enter your log in ID and password.

Couple things to note:

1. Sometimes you need to click the enter button twice, and for no reason. Just a tech glitch.

2. Many times MySpace loads VERY slowly because so many people are on it using lots of space for their videos, audios, photos and more. So either have patience or just try again at a less busy time.

3. There are many unscrupulous people on MySpace, just as there are any place else on the web. So don't give out private information. And do be cautious about networking with everyone and their uncle.

Inside your account, there is no rush to learn everything there, so take our time. Some areas there are:

Favorites - bookmark profiles of your new MySpace friends there.

Invite History - shows how many people you've invited to MySpace.

Classifieds - search through them as you would newspaper classifieds. Post your own, too.

There are quite a few menu choices in MySpace along the bottom of the dark blue menu. Lots of neat things to do there! For starters, you can click Blog and set up your own blog. Post to it regularly and others will read it, attracted by keywords they search for at MySpace.

You can also search Groups and find all types of interesting groups to network with covering many fields of interest like business, health, women's issues, children andmuch, much more.

Using the Search box up at the top, you can click on any of these menu choices to search through:

Click the little red arrow after Events, and more choices come up to search;

1) You can email back wand forth with MySpace members. Enjoy and have fun!

2) Many people will try to spam you and solicit you with porn and garbage. If you log back in and find their profiles with red X's inside empty boxes, these people were bad spammers and were shut down, saving you the grief of more junk mails and having to delete them from your account on your own.

You don't even need to be signed to get some of your answers. Chances are that whatever you're clueless about, somebody else before you was equally clueless.
