MYST IV: Revelation

MYST's first sequel RIVEN had breathtaking graphics, a moving storyline, and is the only game, book, or movie that has ever brought tears to my eyes. Until this one.

The Last Page of the Stranger's Journal

MYST BOOK: Last pageIn 2003, Cyanworlds hosted Mysterium, the annual fan gathering, just before URU's launch. I took The Stranger's Journal with me and collected autographs of the Cyan team on the final page.

"Great journal!" is from Atrus, ahem, Rand Miller, MYST's co-creator with his brother Robyn.

Eloise is the office manager, so she's actually in charge of everything; luckily she's a saint. Mark DeForest is CTO in charge of software and hardware. The next signature may be Chris Brandkamp, business & legal guy. I cannot remember whose name begins with J -- MYST fans, help! Ryan Miller (yep, another brother) is in charge of game design, and RAWA is "Doctor Watson", historian of all things D'ni.

Robyn Miller has moved on to other projects. Someday I need to find and ask him to sign my MYST book.

Visitor's Log

As Atrus would say, "I hope you have enjoyed my MYST Book."

By the way, if you have an iPhone, you can download MYST and carry it wherever you go! Here's CyanWorld's info about MYST for iPhone, with higher-resolution graphics than the original game.

This is amazing! This is exactly what I've been looking for to buy or download... do you have it scanned as a pdf, or is there some other way I could get it in a more book-like form?
  • Myst is not the best thing in the world...but it is close : ) Dec 7, 2010 @ 2:04 am | delete

What a great way to present this! I remember when Myst first came out I was curious about it but never tried to play it. I think I will certainly have to now! Wish I were standing at the ocean too right now! ~ Squid Angel Blessings ~ !
