Magical personal growth ideas for re-discovering your true Self
Inspiring tools and tips that help you re-discover your true spiritual Self, the Self that can do anything!
Exercise Your Spirit
Exericse 1: What is your unconscious personal resistance?
In Shirley MacLane's Dancing In the Light, she talked about the idea of unconscious personal resistance, which can block one's success. This is also one of the things I work to correct with the healing that I do.
I thought this would be a good question to do a reading on, and you can do one too at my free online card reading page:
Ask yourself: what is your unconscious personal resistance to _______?? And then click here for your free reading.
Give it time to load. Let me know how it works for you!
Exercise 2: What do you deserve?
A very good manifestation technique is to write down what you believe you deserve. You won't let things into your life very easily if you think you don't deserve them. If they do manage to eek in, you probably won't let them stick around very long.
Here's what you need: a piece of notebook-sized paper and a pen. A green pen would be great. Green is the color of the heart chakra that we connect with when we do this exercise. You can also use a green candle or paper. It is not necessary, but it adds to the energy.
Now I start writing what you deserve, and don't quit writing until you filled up every line on the front and back of the page. Was that a groan I heard?? There is a reason I don't want you to quit until you have a whole front and back filled. It causes you to think bigger, another excellent manifestation technique. Thinking bigger expands your mind, your heart and your energy. The end result is that you let even more good things into your life.
Here's my example: I deserve lots of love. I deserve support. I deserve success. I deserve to make a great living doing what I love. I deserve healed relationships. I deserve yummy food that is also good for me tonight. I deserve prosperity. I deserve a car that is perfect for me. I deserve a happy, fun, fulfilling life...
When doing this exercise, remember, even if you only 1/2 way or 1/4 the way think you deserve something, write it down anyway. We are going to practice the feeling of deservedness. Also, write something down even if you feel it is trivial. If it makes you feel good to think about getting your nails done, it is useful in the overall manifestation of goodness in your life.
So when you are finished I want you to re-read this paper every night before bed and when you get up in the morning. You can even xerox it and post it around your home. This will help break down internal barriers inside you that are holding "the Good" back.
Exercise 3: Can it be this easy? The magic of the written word
In this exercise we will use writing as a tool to build energy and manifest.
Materials you will need: Pen, paper (preferably notebook size) a lighter or matches, somewhere safe to burn paper, enthusiasm- this is what fuels your creation!
Optional: Different colored pens, markers, glitter pens, candles, incense, mood music, herbs, essential oils, magazine pictures.
1. Set Your Intent: Make what you intend to have the title at the top of your page.
Examples: "My Fabulous Career," "My Excellent Group of Friends," "My Wonderful Life Partner"
2. The Work: Begin writing in the present tense, describing what you want as if you had it right now.
My example: "I now am able to make a great living from the income that pours in daily- from the nearly effortless income streams that I already have in place! I also have local clients whom I adore and who adore me. I am able to help them in a profound way, and they happily pay for my services. I love my work, and I have plenty of money to meet all my obligations. Plenty left to share too! And to spend on traveling to many interesting locations! My work is low stress and high reward%u2026"
-Avoid specific names like, "I am so glad John Smith is in my life now" when describing your perfect mate, or "I am thrilled I got that job with GE" when describing your new job, because by naming specific people and jobs, you are limiting yourself. The Universe may want to provide you with a much more suitable man or job! Ones that you may not even know exist!
-Be sure to write affirmatively. Affirm that you have what you want, instead of what you don't want. Avoid words like can't, don't, not, no, none.
-Write with FEELING! Note the feeling words "adore," love" above, as well as the use of exclamation points.
Here is another example: I am sooo thrilled that I get to wake up and go to a job that I love and get paid a lot for it too!!!!
Don't be afraid to use lllootttss of extra letters and exclamation points!!! That emphasis works up more energy. Who cares if it's not academically correct!
-Similarly, don't worry about repetition, spelling, grammar, or legibility. Let loose and go wild!
-Write in the margins. Write over what you have already written. I do. I write a big "thank you" over what I've already wrote on both sides of the paper and fill the margins with other words of excitement.
3. Embellish it!: Now, let your inner child take over. Draw pictures or symbols like hearts, smiley faces, stars, dollar signs- whatever is meaningful to you. Underline words with colored pens. Add glitter. Add fragrance. Paste a picture on of what you want to create. Do whatever moves you! I draw symbols in the margins and add essential oils that are associated with protection and magical work, like frankincense and myrrh.
4. Utilize Intelligent Design: Always include a phrase like "Thank you for giving me this or better." As previously discussed, because the Universe knows a lot more than you do in your conscious mind, it may give you something better than you even know currently exists.
5. Feelin' It?: Don't stop until you are revved up! If you are not, you ain't there yet! That feeling of elevated energy, is just that elevated energy. Increased vibration. Exactly what attracts your desire here into this reality. If you don't feel the excitement, keep writing. Use more excited words. More color. More doodles. When your writing comes to a natural conclusion and your energy is elevated, stop and take it your paper to a place where it is safe to burn it.
6. Transformation by Fire: Now, we are going to burn our writing to symbolize 1.) that we are letting it go completely, and 2) that we are letting it go from our hands (and minds) and sending it into the Universe's very capable "hands."
You may want to sprinkle herbs, powdered incense or essential oils into the fire or put them on the paper beforehand. (For example: Rose petals for love, sage for purification, a couple drops of orange or lemon essential oil for energy, frankincense and myrrh, for protection and magical work.)
10. Visualize It, Baby!: After the paper is gone, I typically throw my hands up into the air and visualize a beam of light coming from the heavens and going down into me, delivering to me what I just wrote about. Then I give thanks, feeling so grateful that I am going to receive this gift. This feeling is key to the manifestation. I leave my fire ring knowing I will be blessed and all will be well. And any time that I am tempted to worry that I don't yet have what I wrote about, I quickly correct myself and affirm that I do and that I am blessed and that all will be well%u2026 Because worrying is like taking my creation back from the Universe's vast hands and putting it into my human hands.
11. Call to Action or Pushing the Universe?: When you are inspired into action regarding what you worked on, go with that that. That is the time to act. If you don't receive an inspired action (-it truly feels as if you receive it from a muse), be sure you are not trying to push your creation out of a sense of anxiety, by doing ineffective things that actually increase your worry and thus push your creation out and away from you. Know all is well and that your creation is on it's way. Then wait for the inspired action to come to you and act on that.
12. Ready, Set, Receive!: When your creation comes walking into your life, welcome it! Open up your energetic arms and receive! A lot of times when our manifestations arrive, we push them away because they don't look exactly like we envisioned them, or because we freak when we see evidence of what is truly possible in our lives (trust me- that one happens all the time! People often get overwhelmed with the implications of responsibility at that point). Relax, trust your creation, and let it in. And let it stay.
Exercise 4: An oh sooo dreamy dream experiment
Last summer, I read Conversations With Seth Book 2, by Susan Watkins(see Below). Her book mentions a dream suggestion that Seth, channeled through Jane Roberts, mentioned at one of his ESP sessions:-
I choose to have a True Dream from the Gates of Horn.
In the book Seth said that it was from ancient Egypt. Supposedly there are two archetypal gates we enter when we sleep. One is the normal gate. The Gate of Ivory. This is where your average dreams happen where you process what you've seen lately or deal with your fears. The other Gate of Horn is where dreamers go to have psychic dreams, astral travel, meet teachers and teach people themselves. So, go ahead and try it out and remember to affirm that you will remember your dream. Then, if you want, record your experiences at YourDreamDiary.com under the Gates of Horn Section.
