Myst was my first computer game, I had forgotten all about it!

Myst was a crazy good game. I used to play it on my history teacher's computer before classes.

I freakin' LOVE MYST!! I'm playing the second game, Riven, right now. I first played it around 1994 when it first came out; I was a young kid, I remember that. I was amazed then by the graphics and the scope of the game, how much one could explore. Nowadays the graphics still amaze me, and the way I feel like I am IN the game enthralls me. Modern games just don't feel like that! Or if they do, I haven't found those ones yet. I love how all the MYST games tell a story. I'm not very good at playing them, but even just walking around in the landscapes blows my mind.

Thanks for this lens, it really sends me back. No game has ever enthralled me more.

I was totally mystified, hooked, spellbound... this was probably the first game of it's kind I encountered. Like you mentioned, there was nothing quite like it when it came out. I do admit I had a "guide" book but used it only in the beginning when I had no idea what to do. Riven was a bit easier to solve and no more cheats were needed. The third sequel still sits in my shelf, unopened. My family might go broke and starve if I open it. I think I'm saving it for retirement, he he... ^:)^

My LH (lovely hubby) is a Myst fan. I dont spend too much time on it myself but I love the graphics and the sounds, like the water lapping around in the lnadscapes with those tall hut things - you know what I mean!

I really thought this was going to be a game I just loved - and I did for a little while. I remember I gave up when I was in the trees somewhere (i think). I just got bored and never went back to it. I should try again.
