Maybe you don't have a remote for your MythTV media center. Maybe you do, but since you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, you are wondering how nice it must be to do it from it. So, that's what we are doing here!
In order to achieve this, we are going to need to set up a couple of things: first, you must enable Network Remote Control Interface from your MythTV Setup, and then you just have to install an application like MyMote on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Very easy!

Installing and configuring MyMote

I'm using a nice free MythTV iPhone Remote application called MyMote. You can download it by clicking on the image:
You of course need to have your iPhone / iPod Touch connected (wirelessly) to the network.
At the first launch, MyMote will automatically find all the MythTV backends available on your network. If by any case you don't see it listed, you can add it manually.
Select that Backend and it will propose a Frontend for you. Now if you have done the normal installation, one PC that acts as Frontend and Backend, just select your MythTV box from the list.
The default security PIN is 0000, but since I changed mine, I got the "Could not Retrieve Key Bindings" error.
If it is your case too, just go to the Backend from your iPod (clicking on the blue arrow) and change the security PIN to the one you set.
