Naan Bread Pizzas are Delicious, Easy to Make and Incredibly Versatile

The toppings which can be included on naan bread pizzas are all but limitless but they will usually be added to larger, more familiar naan breads. The miniature naans which are featured on this page are perfect for a whole range of purposes, from finger foods at parties and buffets, to portioned lunches for hungry children. A further benefit of making naan bread pizzas of this size is that toppings can be made to suit a wide variety of different tastes and preferences.

It is worth knowing that many of these naan bread pizzas are delicious cold, as well as hot. This would apply particularly but not exclusively to the fish/seafood and vegetarian options.

Mini Naan Breads

Two different sizes of mini naan breads were used in producing this page

Mini naan breads come in a number of different sizes. The two used on this page were 4" in length and 6" in length. The smaller ones are perhaps best for making buffet or party naan bread pizzas, while the slightly larger ones are better suited to quick and easy kids' lunches.

PS - Just in case you are wondering where you will find mini naan bread pizzas, it is worth having a check or asking an assistant in your local supermarket. Mini naan bread were found in my local supermarket purely by accident when looking for something different entirely and so came about this entire page...

Mini Naan Bread Standard Preparation Instructions

There are a couple of points which apply to the recipes and cooking instructions for all of the naan bread pizzas described on this page and it is probably worth clarifying them in the first instance:

1) Preheat the oven to 450F/220C in all instances and place the naan bread pizzas on a baking tray or sheet. There is no need to grease the tray or sheet. Particularly with the smaller naan breads, you may find it easier to actually top and assemble them on the sheet, to prevent the topping spilling off during transfer.

2) Always make sure that the tomato sauce is cold prior to spreading it on the naan breads. Otherwise, it will soak in to the bread and make your pizza base mushy.

3) The 6" naan bread pizzas will require about two heaped teaspoons of tomato sauce and two ounces of cheese. They will take ten minutes to cook, or twelve minutes for an extra crispy base.

4) The 4" naan bread pizzas will require about one heaped teaspoon of tomato sauce and one ounce of cheese. They will take about eight minutes to cook, or ten for extra crispy.

5) The mozzrella cheese used on this page must be proper pizza mozzarella and not the soft balls of mozzarella sold in brine. It should be finely chopped rather than grated or shredded. The cheddar cheese which is used in some of the recipes should be grated.

The sauce which is spread on each of the naan breads prior to adding the toppings could of course be taken from a jar but in all instances on this page it was homemade. You can find out how to very easily make your own homemade pizza sauce via the link immediately below.

Vegetarian Mini Naan Bread Pizzas

Mini Vegetables are Perfect for Mini Naan Bread Pizzas

They make the pizzas easier to top and for better presentation

When you are making mini naan bread pizzas, it is an excellent idea - where possible - to use mini versions of your topping ingredients. These small cherry tomatoes and closed cup mushrooms are perfect for using on mini naan bread pizzas. They should be sliced and used exactly the same way as their bigger brothers would be on larger and more traditional pizzas. You will find that they give a far more authentic look to your finished product than sliced and subsequently chopped larger varieties.

It is likely when you are making mini naan bread pizzas that you will be making more than one - perhaps considerably more than one - at a time. This means that you may need not only an appropriate oven tray for sitting them upon but you may need more than one tray if preparing the pizzas for a party. Below are some perfect, bargain examples of the types of tray you may wish to consider, currently featured on Amazon.
