Preparing BUTTER NAAN the right way

Butter Naan

Ingredients to prepare BUTTER NAAN
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup ghee (see recipe below) or vegetable shortening
  • 3 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • melted butter for brushing


Preparation:
Measure 3/4 cups of warm water using a measuring cup and add some amount of sugar and yeast . Then allow yeast to soften and then stir them up. Cover the cup with a wet cloth and leave the cup for 5-10 minutes.

Mix flour and the yeast in a mediu mixing bowl and add some salt , ghee & vegetable oil to it . Mix the mixture well for 5-10 minutes to get a dough.

Divide the dough into 10-12 pieces and roll it to form a circle like surface.

Preheat oven to 400. Place rolled out dough on greased cookie sheet and brush with melted butter.

    I certainly like butter naan :) whether it's the best bread from the Indian oven - I don't know. What other breads are there?
