Best Movie Ever! Gosh!

A site reliving and immortalizing Napoleon Dynamite. The ligers and llamas and hair oh Gosh!

If you have come to love the genius of Napoleon Dynamite or if you have come to sample the delightful quotes and memorable moments that this movie provides, this is the place for you. This movie provides a wealth of witty quips and a hilarious assault on the visual sense.

Napoleon Dynamite was shot in the summer of 2003 and entered in the 2004 Sundance Film Festival in January. After partnering with Twentieth Century Fox and MTV the film was released in June 2004 in select venues and in August widely. The film was considered a huge success after grossing approximately $44million after being shot on a budget of $400thousand.

Napoleon Dynamite provided me an instant connection with my father in law. Not many people can say that they love spending time with their father in law, but I can because we do things like talk about our skills, and talk about, idiots gosh!

The Plot Run Down

Yeah there is a plot.

Napoleon is an odd high school kid who lives with his grandma and brother Kip. They live in a small town, have a pet llama, and Kip chats on the internet all day.

The story gets going when grandma breaks her coccyx in an atv accident at the dunes. Napoleon's Uncle Rico is sent to watch after him and Kip while she recovers even though Kip is like 32. Uncle Rico is just as odd and is stuck in the 80s trying to relive the glory days of high school football.

Napoleon makes two new friends Pedro the new kid and Deb the overly sensitive shy girl. The plot focuses around two events the high school dance and the student body president election. Pedro asks Deb to the dance much to the dismay of Napoleon, after getting rejected by the most popular girl in school. Napoleon asks a popular girl to the dance and gets ditched, while Pedro and Deb go together. After the dance Pedro decides to run for student body president which pits Napoleon and his friends in a runoff between them and the popular girl Summer. Part of the election speech is a skit, which Pedro had not prepared. Having this sprung on him at the last moment disheartens Pedro, but Napoleon wins the day with a fabulous dance to win the election for Pedro.

Side story includes Napoleons brother kip who starts selling Tupperware with Uncle Rico. Kip also meets his online girlfriend which ends in their wedding after the credits roll. Uncle Rico spends his time ruining Napoleons life and eating all the steak in the house.

Napoleon The Animated Series

I'm not sure what I think of this. It has the potential to be dynamite or an epic failure. I hope they don't disgrace the genius they tapped for the original movie. It sounds like all our favorite characters will be returning. So stay tuned for more Napoleon and check out the trailer.

Liger Facts

" It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic."

By HkandyLigers are not really bread for their skills and magic, but that is how they will be remembered in the minds of millions. A liger is a hybrid animal that is a cross between a male lion and a female tiger. The cross is possible because lions and tigers are in the same genus, but seperate species. Historically there are tales of their existence in the wild when the territory of the two species overlapped in the Middle East and Asia. Due to hunting and expansion the two territories no longer overlap and the hybrid liger is only found in captivity.

Pet Llama

Tina, you fat lard, come get some DINNER!... Tina, eat. Food. Eat the FOOD!

Smiling Llama by Evil EmreTina, come get some ham. Who wouldn't want a pet llama, GOSH! This seems like a pretty sweet pet, though there are a few llama facts that you should know about before you go and buy one.

Llamas originate in South America and are used as pack animals and for meat. Llamas when full grown are 1.7 meters (5.5 ft) and 1.8 meters (6 ft) and between 130 kilograms (280 lb) and 200 kilograms (450 lb). A 2007 estimate puts the Llama and alpaca population of South America at around 7 million and the North American populations at around 250 thousand. Llamas are herbivorous and therefore should not be fed ham. They can be trained and handled by humans and are known to be curious. They are also known to engage in bouts of spitting, kicking and neck wrestling.

Rex Kwon Do

I'm Rex, founder of the Rex Kwan Do self-defense system! After one week with me in my dojo, you'll be prepared to defend yourself with the STRENGTH of a grizzly, the reflexes of a PUMA, and the wisdom of a man.

I know all of us shake with fright at the idea of Kip as a cage fighter. Can you imagine if he had actually learned Rex Kwan Do. He would have had a whole new set of skills. A real lethal weapon. Instead of the gangs trying to recruit Napoleon for his bow bow staff skills they would have been all over his brother. And if they effectively put to use the buddy system watch out. I can't think of a more terrifying prospect than two stick figures with ridiculous hair with the strength of a grizzly, the reflexes of a puma, and the wisdom of a man.

Rex: At Rex Kwan Do, we use the buddy system. No more flying solo. You need somebody watching your back at all times. Second off, you're gonna learn to discipline your image. You think I got where I am today because I dressed like Peter Pan over here?
[points to Kip]
Rex: Take a look at what I'm wearing, people. You think anybody wants a roundhouse kick to the face while I'm wearing these bad boys? Forget about it. Last off, my students will learn about self respect. You think anybody thinks I'm a failure because I go home to Starla at night? Forget about it!

ART

Pedro: Aren't you pretty good at drawing, like animals and warriors and stuff?

Trisha: I wanted to thank you for the beautiful drawing you did of me.
[through gritted teeth]
Trisha: It's hanging in my *bedroom*.
Napoleon Dynamite: Really? It took me like three hours to finish the shading on your upper lip. It's probably the best drawing I've ever done.
Trisha: Yeah... it's really... neat.

Some of us have the gift others of us are like Napoleon Dynamite dreaming of being artists. Either way it can be a skill. Look at how well it worked out for Napoleon he got the girl didn't he. Granted it was a totally different girl, but girls like guys with skills. Napoleon keep drawing animals and warriors and stuff. You the man. The rest of us will have to find our own skills.

I managed to win points with my wife with my Napoleon drawing skills. We played the Napoleon drawing game on our second date, and things went swimmingly. She obviously has more skills in this area than me.
