If you want to look like the White Witch in the 2005 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' movie, you'll need to get hold of some long dreadlocks in a dark blonde shade!

Tilda Swinton who plays Jadis in the movie had the dreadlocks swept away from her face and pointing out at the back of her head in a very unnatural style to emphasize the fact that she's not actually human. That was the iconic look.

She also wore the dreadlocks twisted over one shoulder at the front which is the style depicted in this Narnia poster. In battle mode, Tilda's hair was taken out of dreadlocks and left long and fur-like - very much like the mane of Aslan the lion whom she wished to conquer.

We don't really get to see what shoes are worn by the White Witch in the Narnian movies. But we know what accessories she has and these are:

1. Fur Cape or Stole: The Narnian Witch wears a long white fur cape around her shoulders. A white faux fur cape, a long white hooded velvet cape or even a soft, fluffy wool shrug would work well with the winter theme. >> See White Capes

2. Crown of Ice: In the 2005 Narnia movie, Jadis, the White Witch, is wearing a crown made up of long and sharp icicles. If you really wanted to recreate that specific look, you can purchase clear glass or plastic icicle decorations which could be glued to a headband or onto a hair accessory. 3. Long Sharp Wand: The wand of the terrible Jadis, looks nothing like a standard magical wand. Instead it looks like a long and sharp silver spear. You could always purchase a plastic spear and spray it silver for a dreaded Ice Queen. Little girls are better off with a pretty white or silver colored wand - for safety reasons. >> See Wands

Jadis doesn't wear jewelry in the latest movie version - her presence is dramatic enough as it is with her fierce hair and highly styled gown.

Us mere mortals don't tend to look that commanding so jewelry can definitely help to add to your costume. Think of using pale blues, silvers, clear glass and diamond effects for that winter-inspired witch costume.

Think of snowflakes and ice, whites, clear crystal, silver, sparkling diamonds and shimmering pearls and opals. If you have a plunging neckline, a bold and dramatic necklace would be a perfect accessory. If you're having your hair swept back then earrings would be the number one choice. Or a bracelet if you have shorter sleeves to show it off. You only need one key, Ice Queen piece to look the part.

The whole look for a snow princess or ice queen would be to go for a frosty make-up effect. Little girls are, of course, pretty enough without the addition of make-up but you can at least purchase special make-up which is better and not so harsh on young and sensitive skin.

The make-up I've listed here is really for much older children and adults. A slightly whitened face, some silver and white eyes and eyelashes which look like they are tinged with snow, and just a slick of clear lip gloss is all you need for a true White Witch of Narnia.

In the 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' movie, Jadis wore a total of 7 stunning costumes. Her very first dress, which we see in the scene where she offers Edmund some Turkish Delight, is a long strapless white gown which wasn't flowing but stiff and unyielding, just like her character. The dress was made up from several layers of silk, felted wool and organza which are then topped with a beautiful overlay of lace. It has a crisp white bodice which gradually fades to pale blue towards the hem of the gown.

Did you notice in the movie that the clothes of Jadis get grayer and duller as her powers over Narnia start to diminish? Her crown of ice also starts to melt as time passes on. Jadis, the White Witch, starts off looking powerful and regal in her first (mostly) white dress. Towards the end, her dress in the scenes where Aslan is sacrificed is a dramatic midnight blue, covered with black lace.
