Naruto Headbands

Hi there! Welcome to my Naruto Headbands lens. In this lens I will be talking about Naruto, Naruto Headbands and also teach you how to make your own personal Naruto Headband! Cool huh? well ok, if you are too lazy to make one, I will show you how you can actually buy one. Well without further ado, lets dive right into the Naruto Headband topic!

Naruto - What and Who is Naruto

For those of you who have wandered into my lens accidentally and realised that you do not know anything about Naruto, perhaps I will do a bit of introduction on Naruto first. Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. A manga is something like a comic or print cartoon that is in the Japanese language. The plot tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja who constantly searches for recognition and aspires to become the Hokage, the leader or strongest ninja in the Hidden Village of Konoha where Naruto lives (the kage is like the village elder or chief and in the Hidden Village of Konoha the kage is known as the Hokage). The manga was later adapted into an anime. I am an Naruto anime fan, I have yet to read the manga though.

Anyways, the Naruto that I am referring to in this lens actually refers to the cartoon/anime or comic series and not directly to the character, which the story revolves around on. Anyway, the story begins at the Ninja Academy, where Naruto meets other ninja and also has his own squad of ninjas (Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno). By the way, Naruto has a big crush on Sakura. This squad also has a sensei by the name of Kakashi Hatake. The story thus shows the adventures of Naruto and his squad as they go about on their missions. I won't be going into too much detail since my lens is about Naruto Headbands. For more information on Naruto, you might want to check out Naruto on Wikipedia.

Naruto Villages- Know your Naruto Villages!

In the world of Naruto, countries operate as separate political entities ruled by landlords. Within these countries are hidden villages that train ninjas. These ninjas are then sent to perform missions for other countries or for the defence of their own parent country.

Why I have mentioned the above is because the Naruto Headband carries the symbol of the hidden village in each of the Naruto countries. There are five countries in the Naruto world: the Land of Earth, the Land of Fire, Land of Lightning, the Land of Water and the Land of Wind. These five countries are known as the "Five Great Shinobi Nations" and are the most powerful in the Naruto world. The leaders of each of the hidden villages in these countries hold the title of Kage.In the following section, I will show you the symbol of the five different hidden villages. Once you know how the symbol is drawn, you will be able to create your own Naruto Headband with the correct hidden village symbol!

Country of Fire - Hidden Village of Konoha

The hidden village of Konoha in the country of Fire is the the largest and most powerful village of all the villages in Naruto. It is the home village of Naruto Uzumaki, the main character in Naruto. When I was watching the anime, it would seem as if the good guys are from Konoha while the rest of the villages are evil. The kage in Konoha is known as the Hokage and he is said to be the strongest of all the kages.

Konoha means leaf in Japanese and the symbol of the village is actually a leaf. Check out the diagram on the right. That is how the symbol for the village of Konoha is drawn.

Country of Water - Hidden Village of Mist

Not too much is known about the hidden village of Mist. The Land of Water and the hidden village of Mist are never shown in the series, but several ninja featured in the series hail from this area, such as those from the Chuunin exam. Needless to say the ninjas from this village use water attacks a lot. Madara Uchiha has been referred to as the Mizukage, though it is not clear when he held the title.

Need not say that the symbol of the hidden village of Mist has the waves of the water. Check out the diagram on the right. That is how the symbol for the village of Mist is drawn.

Country of Wind - Hidden Village of Sand

This is one of the countries where my favourite characters come from such as the powerful Gaara, Kankuro and Temari. These three went to Konoha to take the Chuunin exam, and there were a few episodes where you can see their great fighting prowess! The kage of this country is known as the Kazakage. The Kazakage is actually Gaara, Kankuro and Temari's father, who was assasinated by Orochimaru, the biggest baddie in the series. In Part II of the series, Gaara succeeds his father as the Fifth Kazekage.

Im not really sure what the symbol of the hidden village of Sand actually is but it sure looks like an hourglass with a line on top! Or some people says it looks like an overturned exclamation mark. Anyways check out the diagram on the right. That is how the symbol for the village of Sand is drawn.

Country of Lightning - Hidden Village of Cloud

The hidden village of Cloud is located on a high mountain, hence its name. The leader of this hidden village is known as the Raikage. This country and its inhabitants go largely unseen until late in the second half of the series.

Check out the diagram on the right. That is how the symbol for the hidden village of Cloud is drawn. I would presume the black patches are in fact the clouds.

Country of Earth - Hidden Village of Rock

Unfortunately, there's not much information available about this village right now and it has only been mentioned in passing in the manga. The kage in this country is known as the Tsuchikage.

Check out the diagram on the right. That is how the symbol for the hidden village of Rock is drawn. Similar to the symbol for the hidden village of Cloud, I would presume this symbol depicts rocks.

Now that you know your Naruto villages, just sit back rest a while and have a look at how the different symbols look on the Naruto headbands. You would see that there are actually more than 5 symbols. I have left the others out as some of these villages do not really have a country and also do not belong to the five great superpowers.

Naruto Headband - Make your own Naruto Headband here!

Now that you know the different Naruto Villages, its time to make your own Naruto Headband! Making your own Naruto village headband is easy once you know which village you want your headband to represent. Its the same just that you would need to change the symbol of the headband to get the right village. I would guess the most popular would be the Naruto leaf or leaf village headband since Naruto Uzumaki comes from there. Anyway just follow the steps below to create your own Naruto ninja headband!.
  1. Get some cloth. Blue is the preferred color since the headbands in the anime are all blue in color (it would be weird if you got a headband with a strange colour). You would need some cardboard, scissors, paint or aluminium foil, a black marker, some fabric glue or staples to make a naruto ninja headband.
  2. Cut the cloth into a lengthy strip. The width should be about 3 inches and the length would depend on the size of your head. Wrap the cloth around your head and ensure that you can still tie the cloth behind your head.
  3. Cut a length of cardboard about 3 inch width and about 6 to 7 inches long. Paint the cardboard with a silvery colour on one side. Alternatively, you might want to just wrap the cardboard in aluminium foil.
  4. Once the paint has dried, or the cardboard has been wrapped in foil, use a black marker to draw out the symbol of the hidden village that you want the headband to be. For example, if you want a naruto village headband from the hidden village of Konoha, you will have to draw the leaf symbol. You might want to consider using a pencil first to create an outline so as to prevent drawing errors from spoiling the whole headband. It is also possible that you print out the symbol and paste this on the cardboard itself of drawing it out yourself.
  5. Do remember to draw out three holes on each side of the cardboard to make your naruto village headband a very authentic one!
  6. When you are satisfied with the symbol, apply fabric glue to the back of the cardboard and the front of your cloth and press together firmly. Put something heavy on the cardboard to ensure that the glue works it magic and leave it there for a few hours.
  7. If you have wrapped the cardboard with aluminium foil, you might want to use a stapler to staple some bullets to hold the cardboard with the cloth. However, do note that such a method may cause discomfort when you are wearing the headband since the bullets may be sticking out.
