Solutions for a Sick Baby: A Nasal Aspirator
I don't know, but I'll tell you what it's not.
Well?
I told you, it's not "snot"
Yes, that was indeed a pathetic attempt at a joke, but the annoyance is very real. As a human being (I'm assuming you are one), you have surely encountered the common disease that is the "cold". It raises your body temperature, possibly gives you migraines, might lead to ear infection, sores your throat, and fills up your nose with snot.
Babies are no different, except that they haven't the ability to deal with such a disease. Medicine helps of course, but at least a nasal aspirator can clean up the nose so that the baby may breathe - and isn't a breathing baby good?

Simple the Best Baby Nasal Aspirator
Nosefrida Nasal Aspirator
Review
This baby aspirator works by placing a tube outside of the nostril. Because of this, it is non-invasive - therefore running no risk of accidentally injuring the child - and the baby won't become too fussy. Instead of being powered by batteries, it is through the parent's own suction. Before you say "gross", there are filters to prevent the suctioned snot from going anywhere it isn't supposed to go.
The aspirator is easy to clean, compact, health-wise safe, and dishwasher safe. It comes with a case, that large blue box, so it can be stored easily in a purse, bottle bag, or diaper bag.
Of course, no product is ever perfect. Although it was medically proven not to transfer diseases from parent to child or vice versa, some people claim to have caught their baby's disease. This is more likely to have happened through hugging, diaper changing, feeding, but the fact remains some people claim it was the aspirator. It is possible that they had received defective aspirators.
Conclusion
If you don't mind the idea of sucking the snot out of a baby's not, with filtered protection of course, then you cannot find a better aspirator. If, however, you find the idea all too gross, or if you just don't think you have enough lung capacity to suck snot out, then feel free to read further down.

Other Suction-Based Baby Nasal Aspirators
This sounds bit ...gross?
Well, yes. Snot can sound gross. However the best aspirators are the ones that use human powered suction. Just remember that the products have been thoroughly tested to ensure parents don't end up actually sucking up mucus. And remember that it's so your baby can breathe and sleep well. Remember, it's all so your baby can breathe and not end up with lung problems. But if that's still too hard, there are battery and hand powered alternatives - though not quite as good.

Graco Nasal Aspirator
Battery Powered Aspirator
Review
This aspirator is fully battery powered - no need to suck snot out. Its power is strong, but at the same time it's very gentle - it's a fine balance. Because it uses batteries, the creator(s) figured it'd be nice to include music. 12 tunes are put in to stray your child's attention away from the aspirator. Different nostril tips are included so you can choose which one fits your child best. One size does not fit all after all.
Health wise, it is a very soft device. So soft it could be used on a little newborn. Since you have full control of the battery-powered suction, you you can stop it as desired. As with most baby products nowadays, it uses safe materials, can be easily cleaned, and is dishwasher safe.

Conclusion: 3 Stars
Make sure you fully read all directions as this product can be a little picky if you don't know how to properly operate it. Since some babies have thicker mucus, the regular suction may not be strong enough. The directions included do tell you how to deal with that using a water cleansing trick. For other babies, using it would be a piece of cake - reading directions is still recommended though.
Battery Operated Aspirators
A Japanese Combination
Foreign Baby Nasal Aspirators

This Japanese combination is basically a little health care kit (don't worry, it's imported so you can buy it here on amazon US. If you're from the UK, well, I don't know....)
First up is the baby nasal aspirator.
Another human suction based nasal aspirator. There's no filter, but the design is carefully made so as not to get snot in the parent's mouth. It's easy to take apart for cleaning . Sterilize with boiling water. It can be very powerful and is therefore best for when the baby's nose is really full - not just for when you see a little speck or two. Like with the other human suction aspirators, it is possible you may catch your baby's disease.
Then there's the baby nasal tweezers.
No, it's not to pluck nose airs from a baby - which would be impossible since they have none yet. It's so you can grab those hard buggers that are difficult to get out with an aspirator. Chances are you'd probably use the tweezers more than the aspirator. Why? Well aspirators are good for liquid mucus. In other words, they're good for when a baby's sick or allergic. Tweezers are good for just when a nose fills up with filtered particles. In other words, for daily living. Even you probably have a bugger in your nose at least once a week even if you're not sick, and those are usually fairly hard.
Then there's a ....nail clipper?
I know it has absolutely nothing to do with noses at all, but it's a nifty product by the same company. Apparently the Japanese also excel at baby care. The cutters aren't as sharp as normal nail clippers, so you should be less frightened about potentially hurting your baby, but it's still sharp enough to get the nail the first time around. Its shape makes it easy to hold even as the baby squirms a bit (of course if the baby's fighting and trying to get away from you as if you carried the plague, no matter how great the design, you won't be able to do anything)
