The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing is one of the most appreciated associations when it comes to reviewing car races. Nascar Games are easily found over internet and Nascar facts are well known by fans. But how about some fun, rather interesting facts about this loved association?

One of the best facts about NASCAR is that it's actually a family-owned business, founded in the late 40's by Bill France Sr. Since then, the CEO of Nascar still runs in the family, going to prove the strong character of this engaged family. Nowadays you can even find NASCAR games online, that's how popular it is.

More Nascar Facts

The first official NASCAR race was held in 1949, on the 19th of June, at Charlotte North Carolina fairgrounds , and was won by Jim Roper, who drove a Lincoln Cosmopolitan.

The most appreciated NASCAR driver ever is Richard Petty. He won 200 races in his career, and won Daytona competitions 7 times. His father, Lee Petty, was also a NASCAR driver that won the first Daytona 500 race. Now a funny thing about that first race, besides not being 500 miles (until 1961), is the fact that it took 3 days for judges to decide upon the real winner of the race.
Richard Petty has also made history for inspiring the window net to keep the drivers' hands inside the car during a crash. That way a lot of people suffered less injuries.

Of course, NASCAR is mostly a men competition, but that doesn't mean women can't drive. In 1976, the first woman who completed a Winston Cup race was Janet Guthrie. You can try some new NASCAR games from the comfort of your own home, compete and win even if you are a girl. The fun is for everyone!
