I Shouldn't Have Done This.I said to Jimmy, "If you could have your bedroom any way that you wanted it, what would it look like"?
Being the avid 9 year old NASCAR fan that he is, the answer came out of his mouth immediately, even before I could say "Checked Flag".
Jimmy said, "I want everything NASCAR. Could I have my favorite Dale Earnhardt, Jr. bed spread and the NASCAR logo wall border and the Jeff Gordon pillow (his 2nd favorite driver) and let's not forget the "Victory Lap" curtains".
In short, NASCAR bedding just like his friend Daryl has was the only thing that would please him.
I was stunned.

Within a matter of minutes Jimmy told his dad, my brother Bobby, that I promised to "makeover" his bedroom with all his favorite NASCAR bedding stuff.Wow, just what a father wanted to hear.

You didn't really think that I was going to break the heart of my All-American, freckled face, red haired, NASCAR loving 9 year old nephew did you?We can all agree, that buying Jimmy all the NASCAR bedding and accessories that he wanted was my labor of love.
When Jimmy's "bedroom makeover" was finished, the look on his face was definitely worth more than gold. He acted like it was Christmas, his birthday and summer vacation all rolled into one.
And just like most 9 year old boys would do, he had a sleep-over with six of his best buddies.
Gee, I wonder why he wanted to do that?
