Unleaded NASCAR fuels all cause extensive damage to the engines.It's not that NASCAR was being defiant about using unleaded gas. The problem was that years of gasoline research hadn't produced a NASCAR fuel that was acceptable to NASCAR race teams.
It's only because NASCAR, SUNOCO and The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) worked closely together to create a new formula for NASCAR fuel that everyone found acceptable. There is no question that, this was not an easy job that took several years to complete.
Technology and innovation both made this new NASCAR fuel possible for the 2008 NASCAR racing season.
