Bubba - You Just Have To Love This Guy!
Nash Bridges is an all around great guy that I wish I knew. He's a great police detective, a good son, a devoted father, a kind ex-husband, a really good dresser, and a good leader to his squad of detectives.

Nash Bridges
Nash Bridges is twice divorced, Scottish by heritage, and he lives in San Francisco, CA. He has one daughter, and usually she and his father Nick (who suffers from Alzheimer's) are living with him in his gorgeous loft apartment. He is a Police Inspector in charge of the elite Special Investigations Unit of the San Francisco Police Department. Nash calls everyone he meets "Bubba". Nash carries a two-tone black and silver finish Colt .45 custom automatic handgun. Nash's partner is Inspector Joe Dominquez. Together, they cruise the streets of San Francisco in Nash's classic yellow 1971 Plymouth Barracuda ('Cuda) convertible. As a cop, Nash is the best. He's cool under fire and can handle himself in a street fight. Nash prefers, however, to use words as his weapon, but when they fail, he's ready for action. Sometimes, when a fight starts, Nash will sit back and let a fellow officer wrestle with the bad guys. It's not that Nash was being a bad back up, he's just not a glory hound. He knows his officers limits and what they can handle - and when his help is needed, Nash will always jump in with an assist (or, an aptly placed open car door into the midsection of a fleeing bad guy...). In between their regular duties on the force, Nash and Joe opened a detective agency as a sideline and investigate their own (usually very bizarre) cases.

Nash Bridges' Co-Workers

- Inspector/Lieutenant Joe Dominguez ~ (Cheech Marin) Get-rich-quick scheme partner and best friend to Nash. He handles the business end of their private detective agency on the side. Originally set to retire from the force, Joe chose to remain on with Nash in the S.I.U. Joe can find the fun and humor in any situation that can brighten things up for people quickly, while still being all business in the process. Joe's friendship with Nash goes back to their early days in the force. Joe was busted for a D.U.I., thus ruining his reputation was shot and turning him into a black sheep in his own precinct, and no one would partner with him. He was finally assigned a partner who didn't care about his "incident", refused to listen to naysayers and was against leaving him as a partner -- Nash. Joe is married to Inger, who is from Sweden and they are the proud parents of a baby girl named Lucia.
- Inspector Harvey Leek ~ (Jeff Perry) A die-hard Grateful Dead fan with a background in technical knowledge. His wife left him because of his commitment to the force, always active in S.I.U. cases. Best friend to Inspector Evan Cortez, and very passionate about his 1972 Ford Ranchero.
- Inspector Evan Cortez ~ (Jamie P. Gomez) Womanizing cop and best friend to Inspector Harvey Leek. Evan reminds Nash of what he used to be like long ago. Evan had a stormy relationship with Cassidy Bridges. Evan went through a painful period after his breakup with Cassidy and the loss of his job -- as a drunk on a downward spiral, he was able to use a 12-Step AA program for recovery. He was able to turn his life around and returned to the force as a Christian, able to relate to others in the S.I.U. with kindness and care.
- Inspector Caitlin Cross ~ (Yasmine Bleeth) She originally came to the S.I.U. as a city attorney investigating the officers in the unit, but eventually joined forces with Nash and his team. She had a brief romance with Nash, which ends when she leaves to be near her sister in Washington, D.C.
- Inspector Rick Bettina ~ (Daniel Roebuck) Crooked S.I.U. officer turned criminal and a frequent headache to the S.I.U. In the beginning, Rick considers Nash (who dislikes Rick) his best friend and at one point was Nash's boss as Rick's mother married the chief of police and gave him the job. Then, to cover-up his attempted rip-off of the police retirement fund, Joe tries to kill Nash and Joe.
- Inspector Antwon Babcock ~ (Cress Williams) Evan's replacement at the S.I.U., and a man who can think quickly on his feet -- Antwon once rescued the S.I.U. from a potential explosion when he drove a car carrying a bomb off a pier. Antwon prefers to stay out of personal situations, but is very active in the force. He becomes good friends with Harvey as his partner.
- Angel ~ (Tracey Walter) A wise spiritual figure who often appears when dispensing advice to Nash or other members of the S.I.U. Dressed completely as an angel (complete with wings), he wanders the streets of San Francisco: a vagrant, but also a figure of gentleness and mystery.

Nash's Car:
In the first episode of "Nash Bridges", the audience was introduced to a 1970 426 Hemi Plymouth 'Cuda convertible. Painted in High Impact yellow, this sleek muscle car belonged to San Francisco detective Nash Bridges. Supposedly, the car is "one of 14 ever made." Nash's 426 Drag Hemi engine with twin Carter AFB four-barrels is capable of 425 horsepower at 5,000 rpm, with 0-60 in 5.7 seconds. Episode No. 4 "High Impact" revealed that Nash treasures his car because it carries sentimental memories of his brother Bobby who disappeared over Cambodia during the Vietnam War. Reportedly, there were four different Cuda's specifically built for the show. One is a genuine 440 big-block strip-burner that was converted to a single 4-barrel. The 440 car and the 318 car are actually '71 'Cudas, while the 340 car and the 360 car are '70 'Cudas with cosmetic changes to make them look like '71s.(from TV Acres.com)

The Goof:
Although Nash Bridges' car is referred to as a 1971 Plymouth Barracuda (the grill, headlamps, mirrors, and tail light configuration is that of a 1971 Plymouth Barracuda.) The actual cars used were 1970 Plymouth Barracudas converted to look like 1971s. None were Hemis.
Nash Bridges' Family Ties
- Nick Bridges ~ (James Gammon) Nash's retired longshoreman father who lives with him. Often ends up being rescued by Nash. Despite his occasional moral detour, has strong principles as a person. He's also skilled at cards.
- Cassidy Bridges ~ (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) Nash's young adult daughter who originally aspired to be an actress. Had a tough relationship with Evan that had them eventually reconciling and about to be married, before Evan was killed. Thus, this inspired Cassidy to join the SIU after his death. After a year at the SIU Cassidy decided to relocated to Paris to be with her mother.
- Lisa Bridges ~ (Annette O'Toole) A caterer by trade, she is Nash' feisty ex-wife and a best friend. Still loves Nash and on occasion, has made out with him. Moved to Paris after she and Nash revealed their true feelings to each other.
- Inger Dominguez ~ (Caroline Lagerfelt) Joe's wife from Sweden and mother of their infant child, and step-mother of Joe's adult son. A kind woman and loving wife, also the one really in charge of their household. In one episode we meet her over-bearing mother, who arrives from Sweden.

Nash Bridges Theme Song - Second Season
I might be prejudiced, but I think this is one of the cooler theme songs and montages on television.

- was sorry to see the show end when it did. even though nash was a rather arrogant man with a spoiled daughter who had to have everything her way and could do no wrong in hers or her fathers eyes. he was definately easy on the eyes and always looked good. he had friends he could count on, was devoted to his family, had a sense of humor, dressed nice, drove a great car, was an unfortunate womanizer and a great job he did well and was happy with. the show had appeal for a variety of tv viewers. cars, action, love and family issues, friends, humor and a decent set of plots 90 percent of the time.

- This show is amazing, every time I watch it I can't help but wonder what a spin off or a continuation would look like. Maybe Joe got promoted to Captain and Harvey got promoted as well. It would great to see Cassidy back as well.

- Just caught a NB show where his daughter had been an innocent bystander in a bank when it was robbed. She drew her weapon and possibly shot a young woman also in line at the time of the robbery. The theme music in the beginning montage of this show was amazing. Now I can't find the name/artist ANYWHERE... I did find that the music changed three times during the run of the show. Can anyone help by telling me the three opening songs/artists?
Tall order, but thank you!

- "Nash" will always remain one of my all time favorite shows, despite the fact that Evan was killed off at the end of Season 5. I still think they could have gone for one more season. I'm still can't help but wonder if Joe ever got the house re-modeled. I also would have liked to have seen if Nash would have waited for Rachel to get out of jail because of her trying to help set Nash up. I'm hoping they will do a reunion movie, after all, "Walker" did one, and forgive me Chuck Norris, but "Nash" was way cooler!!!!! I will forever be a devoted fan, mainly because one of these days I will learn the ""Cuda rules" by heart!!! LOL.

Nash is a smart-alecky police inspector (Don Johnson) who's seen fighting crime on the streets of San Francisco, while driving around in his screaming yellow 70ish Plymouth Hemi Barracuda. He's the typical super-cop on the beat, who always wins in the end. Unfortunately, his personal relationships leave much to be desired. He has two ex-wives, a 16-year-old daughter needing a lot of supervision, and a father with Alzheimer's disease who keeps getting kicked out of retirement homes and dropping by to visit.
