Photos of Flood Damage at Edwin Warner Park

The Nashville Flood of 2010 devastated Nashville including Edwin Warner Park on May 1 and 2, 2010. This lens was created on July 6, 2010, almost two months after the flood. Although most of the fallen trees had been cut and moved to the sides of the roadways, the roads were still broken into different levels with gaping sinkholes, landslides and downed trees everywhere.

This lens will chronicle some of the damage that occurred in Edwin Warner Park during and following the Nashville Flood of 2010.

About the Nashville Flood

Temporary trash dump site at Edwin Warner ParkBellevue, Tennessee, which borders part of Edwin Warner Park, was especially hard hit during the great Nashville Flood of 2010.

On May 1 and 2 of 2010, a rainy weather front hovered over Middle Tennessee and dropped a deluge of rain over two days. All over the Warner Park system, trails were washed out, trees were downed, sinkholes opened up, and roadways cracked and crumbled.

To try to handle the massive amount of trash and debris coming out of near-by flooded houses, a massive temporary trash dump site was set up near the airplane field at Edwin Warner Park. This photo only shows the part of the dump site nearest the road.
