Rice - an Important Crop, an Important Food!
But that changed dramatically when we moved to the Western Pacific Island of Guam. Our family soon became very good at going through a 50-lb bag of rice each month. And now that I have my own family, we also go through about 50 lbs of rice a month. It's a rare day that we don't have rice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Yup. Three times a day is normal for most "tropical" folks. And I consider myself very "tropical".
Rice is a versatile food--it can be prepared in many different ways. The first step is to cook it. But from there, the possibilities are endless. From European methods to Asian methods of cooking and preparing rice, to learn more about this interesting food, please enjoy the rest of this Squidoo lens!

- Well, it was my ex who seriously loved rice and would order it every time he could. Me? I'll do brown fried rice, but not really into rice with every meal. Now, tapioca, yes!
