Ranked #11,770 in Culture & Society, #234,556 overall
This lens is about one of my ancestors.
One of my aunt's on my mother's side of the family has been into geneology for years and has put together our family tree. The most notable name on the list is Nathaniel Greene, who was a Revolutionary War hero who few people have heard about.
Who was Nathaniel Greene?
He served as Quartermaster under General George Washington during the Revolutionary War.
He was my great-great-great-etc grandfather on my mother's side of the family and the most noted historical figure in my family tree that I am aware of.
Read about the quest to locate the missing bones of General Greene.

- Hi, I'm Susanna Lundgren, an artist and professor in Portland Oregon. My mother told me a family story that we are descended from Nat Greene, but I don't know whether it's even possible. The link would have been through my great-grandmother Emily Wiley born Massachusetts 1847/died1928 or her husband Isaac Newton DeForest, a major in the Civil War born in New York 1842/died1909. Any light shed would be welcome.
