What is National Smore's Day

National Smore's Day is holiday celebrated on August 10th.Although there isn't any thing in writing saying that it is a national holiday. It is still celebrated through out North America. But, just because you don't live in North America doesnt mean You cant celebrate it.

Smore's are a delicious mixture of Graham cracker, marshmallows and chocolate. Made into a type of sandwich.

It is said to have originated in the early 1900's when some girls scouts made them and one girl said "Can I have some more"

So get out your chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers and lets make Smore's.


Find your favorite Starbucks coffee

How to make Smore's

Graham cracker (one whole)
Chocolate bar (like hersheys)
one marshmallow (toasted)

Take one graham cracker and break it in half
Add a piece of chocolate bar big enough to fit the half graham cracker
Add toasted marshmallow (you want it nice and warm and gooey)
Add the other half of the graham cracker to the top (so it looks like a sandwich)

ENJOY!!!

They are fun because you get to toast the marshmallow over the campfire

Smores Cheesecake

Ingredients

(10 servings)

1 1/2 c Graham cracker crumbs
1/3 c Margarine or butter, melted
1/2 c Sugar
12 oz Container soft cream cheese
5 (1.45-oz)milk chocolate candy bars, melted
1 (1.45-oz)milk chocolate candy bars, finely chopped
1 c Miniature Marshmallows
2 c Cool whip, thawed

Stir together crumbs, margarine and sugar in small bowl; press onto bottom and 1 inch up sides of 9-inch spring form pan. Chill
Stir together cream cheese and melted chocolate in small bowl until well blended; pour into crust. Sprinkle with chillledchopped chocolate.
Fold marshmallows into whipped topping; spread over cheesecake. Chill.
Serves 10 to 12

    What fun! Sadly they don't have graham crackers in New Zealand. I miss Smores! This lens brings back wonderful memories. I introduced the girls to them when we were in the states last year. They will be thrilled to find out there is a holiday for this wonderful treat!
