National Organ Donor Day is Always on February 14th.
Valentine's day is a good day to remember to tell people you love that you want to be an organ donor. Give your heart, so to speak. You can also register to be an organ and tissue donor online.

Make your wishes known
- Get it put on your driver's license.
- Register at your state donor registry. I have a link to a site with all states' donor registries farther down on this lens.
- State your wishes for organ donation in your living will or other end of life paperwork.
- Tell your family. In some states they have to agree to the donation even if you are duly registered. Explain why you want to be a donor.
- Tell your physician, lawyer, and friends. The more people you tell, the greater the chance your wishes will be fulfilled.
- Complete a donor wallet card and carry it in your wallet. I have a link to one further down this lens.
Remember to tell all the people you love that you want to donate your organs and tissue when you die.
Most loved ones will not make the decision if you have not clearly expressed it to them ahead of time. Now is the time to make your wishes known.
