Natural Fertility Treatment - 87% Chance of Success

The initial consultation for the natural fertiity treatment did take just over two hours and in that time I was asked a huge amount of questions about Buster (my husband) and me. I am going to cover each topic that was discussed in detail as I believe that they are all important.

The initial consultation cost me $200 which is just a quarter of the price of the intrauterine insemination that we have been doing. The $200 includes many of the homeopathic remedies aswell. These are being sent to me by Express Post so I am hoping to receive these today. I was also told about some other vitamins and supplements to go out and buy. She was sending me a list to take to a health shop. The great thing about the program is it is designed to not only give us a natural fertility program but to get us back to a good state of mind and health (we both need this).

The success rate with 4 cycles of the natural fertility program is 87% which sounds hopeful.

When trying to conceive whether it be with natural fertility treatment or injections or IVF we all know that stress can cause problems. Inez, my homepathic consultant asked me a few questions to determine whether or not I was stressed. I knew the overall answer immediately, well yes. Here's just a few hints why - Buster has been struggling for work, missing family in UK, have been struggling with money and of course let us not forget unable to get pregnant. She asked me about these a little and when I got to the bit about missing family I told her that I felt guilty at taking their grandchildren to the other side of the world and that I would always have to live with that guilt. At this point I got tearful and the consultation was getting towards being a counselling session not a consultation about natural fertility treatment. She was wonderful and said that one of the remedies that she was putting me on would help with the low, mildy depressed state that I was in.

We also covered the disappointment every month when I get my period, which to be honest is getting easier because I just expect it every month now. This natural fertility treatment will also help with the anxiety and stress of trying to get pregnant.

I was asked about my two previous births with Harry and Sam which were both delivered by emergency C-Section. With Harry I had 19 hours labour and then he decided to stay put at 9.5cm. With Sam, he was 5 weeks early and he was the wrong way around. After Sam I had experienced some clotting for which I went back into hospital for some tests and scans. Whilst I was in there, laid on the bed I got labour pains. When I was taken for a scan it was revealed that a tiny bit of the placenta had got left behind and they could either open me up (their words) or because it was such a small amount let it work it's own way out. I opted for the last option which sounded much less painful.

I know you may at this stage be thinking that we are steering away from the subject of natural fertility treatment, but it was important for her to know all the history. The good news is that since then, Paul Stokes from the fertility clinic had sent me for a HSG scan which had revealed that both my tubes were ok and in tact. She was happy with this.

I was asked about Busters tadpoles (calling them this as Squidoo doesn't allow real name). He has had this checked on a couple of occasions, the first was through our GP before we started on the whole fertility journey. Originally our GP told us that it was a little bit on the low side, but then when we went to the fertility clinic we were told it was fine and there was nothing to worry about. His count on the intrauterine inseminations have been 80 million with 60% motility. Let's face it we only need one to get pregnant !

Anyway, back to the natural fertility treatment, we are going to start Buster on some supplements to vitamins to boost things in that area. You will find a full list of the vitamins and supplements on this lens.

Obviously the main thing that Inez (my homeopathic lady) is concentrating on is to help to get me pregnant, but before that will happen she wants to focus on a couple of things. The anxiety, stress, general health and then we go on to things like ensuring that I produce fertile cervical mucus etc. The program is not only designed to get myself in tip top health but also Buster aswell. It will improve the quality of the tadpoles and just generally improve his health too.

I like the fact that we are going to get ourselves back on track with health and stress levels too, as I believe we are in need of this. To be honest I think the whole fertility thing has taken its toll on us. I don't think all the drugs that I have been taking have helped with my anxiety and feeling low. I am looking forward to trying the natural fertility treatment program. If nothing else it will get us fit and healthy.

The first month of Natural Fertility Treatment wasn't successful for us, but that's ok, to be honest I didn't expect it to be. We only started taking all the Vitamins, Homeopathic Remedies and Supplements well into the month. I am feeling a lot more relaxed about the whole thing now anyway. Inez, the Naturopath that I am seeing for the Natural Fertility Treatment said that what she was putting us on would help with the anxious feelings that we have been getting about struggling to conceive and I believe that they have.

The only thing that could easily throw a spanner in the works on future months is that my husband, Buster will be starting to work away more soon, so it may not always work out time wise. If he works the Roster that we are hoping for it will be 2 weeks away and 1 week at home, so it will work sometimes which will be OK.

I have my phone consultation with Inez next week, so I will update you with any changes to supplements etc.

My Naturopath Inez, has informed us how to bring ovulation forward which we are going to try this month. I am going to start taking the Folliculinum earlier this month, on day 5 and then continue taking it daily until I ovulate. Inez says that this has worked for women in the past, so fingers crossed X. It would be good if we could bring it forward, timing wise and also my 32 day cycle is a bit long to wait between attempts.

I know, how can the rain affect fertility ? I realise how crazy this is sounding, but you see it was all timed so well this month. Buster is workig a roster at the moment where he works 19 days away and then is home for 9. Last month did not time well at all and we didn't get to even try to conceive because he was away when I ovulated. We thought that this month would time perfectly and he would be home when I ovulated, and then it rained ! He was sent home early because of the rain, not just a little rain, the site is drenched.

The good news is that he now can pick and choose his rosters because his employer is trying to accomodate the workers. We have worked it out that if he goes back and works 28 days (know this is going to be a long time away, but money is fast running out), when he comes back it shoud time with ovulation next month. We are determined not to let this month slip by aswell. I am trying to bring forward ovulation and me and the kids are planning on going to spend a couple of nights in a caravan park in Chinchilla at the end of next week and have a little holiday, whilst seeing where Dad is working. I just hope more rain doesn't throw any more spanners in the works !

All 3 months I have had a double line on the Ovulation Test Sticks to confirm that yes, I am ovulating. With the Natural Fertility Treatment I feel like my body is getting back to normal and the effects of the Clomid and Injections are wearing off - never again would I go down that road. For the last 2 months I have ovulated on the same day of the month, so I know that I am getting my body back in its normal balance.

I feel so much better health wise and I also love the chats that I have with my Naturopath. She really listens.

I got my double line last night on my test stick and again this morning, so we are heading down to Chinchilla tonight to see Buster. We are staying at a Caravan Park down there, only for one night. One night of the baby dance and here's hoping.
