Natural Hair Treatment- Wooden Combs
Natural hair Treatment, Help me with my hair, wooden comb to the rescue.
I found a wooden comb in my belongings, after a major move a few years ago. I have no idea where this comb came from.
I happened to be standing in front of a mirror and combed my hair with it. Instant results !
I ran and got a plastic comb and combed my hair with it, then combed my hair with the wooden comb.
The difference was shocking.
The frizzy hair calmed down. Over time I noticed that the hair breakage, which I thought was mostly natural, since my hair was thick and healthy looking, slowed and then stopped. AND when you comb your hair with a wooden comb it looks thicker.
Wood Comb History:
A comb is a toothed device used in hair care for straightening and cleaning hair or other fibers. Combs are among the oldest tools found by archaeologists, having been discovered in very refined forms from settlements dating back to 5000 years ago in Persia.
Combs can be made out of a number of materials, most commonly wood or plastic. Ivory and tortoiseshell were once common but concerns for the animals that produce them have reduced their usage. When made from wood, combs are largely made of boxwood, cherry wood or other fine-grained wood. Good quality wooden combs are usually handmade and polished.
Combs can vary in shape according to function. Hairdressing combs may have a thin, tapered handle for parting hair and close teeth. Common hair combs usually have wider teeth half way and finer teeth for the rest of the comb.
A hairbrush, which is larger than a comb, is also commonly used for shaping, styling and cleaning the hair.
Over 94% of males and 98% of females in modern and developed countries possess a comb and 99% of these people use their comb on a daily basis. The rest of the population in developed countries who do not own combs are more likely to suffer from hair loss at an early age as well as discoloration of the hair, often gold sprouts on black hair

- Oh ya. Get one. Then hide it....cuz anyone who tries it will "borrow" it and fail to give it back. It massages the scap, calms the frizz and goes thru tangles like butter without pulling your hair out.

- My wife has been a beautician for many years and doesn't remember ever hearing anything about the benefits of wood combs. We are curious, now, and will give it a try. Thanks for the information.
