- This was so useful! My husband and I used to feed our pets as you subscribe and then we got talked into using a "high quality" and "expensive" dog food. (Pellets). Recently we were just discussing the fact that we have had 2 dogs die of stomach cancer. Our first, we fed meat and the other things you suggested and then later on just pellets. Our next dog we fed pellets but also gave her treats from the table.
Now, we are feeding our two dogs just pellets (purchased from a vet) .. no treats except the kind purchased at a pet store. We have had to have both of their teeth cleaned .. very expensive! You have given us something to think upon .. thank you for caring.

- Oh, I'm so sad about the stomach cancer horrors you and your dogs have had to endure. Food is certainly one possible culprit, as too can be over-vaccination. Fresh food is the platform upon which we build health.

- I agree with you. I have a cat, and feed her organic food with no chemicals or harmful additives. Our pets deserve the best!

- Oh my, dogs and cats all seem to have dental problems because of manufactured foods. This is also a key reason that natural feeding is best. (It's hard to brush the teeth of a cat, I have tried). Systemically too, I would imagine the whole gingivitis, tartar and plaque affects our pets too (similar to humans). And yes, vet bills for dental care are high, since they require sedation and special monitoring. Great lens, will be lensrolling to 3 of mine.
Thank you! Rose

- It's a terrible business that the first chunk of profit comes from selling the food then the second bite comes in putting right the unnecessary and very sad consequences of feeding that 'food'.

- The more I read from you, the more I love. A vet that isn't holding hands with pet food manufacturers is a rare find. Thank-you for pointing out that dogs naturally consume what they need and that their dietary needs are close to humans.

- Loved it. Wonderful to have a vet here giving the right advice. I will be switching my dog's diet immediately. What about cats? Featured this on Pets Health.

- I thought my 14 yr old terrier was in his last days until I started feeding him what I was eating rather than dog food. He perked right up and I still have him 2 years later.
