Start Off Your Day by Letting in Fresh Air and the Warm Sun to Relieve Stress

Start off your day by opening up your window! Let the fresh air in (of course not during the darkest days of the winter...). Did you know that the average homeowner never... EVER opens up their windows? And why not? Well, they have heat in the winter time and AC during the summer...

But what these homeowners are missing out on is the fresh air of nature. It gives a natural stress relief when you can breathe the clean air in. You could even open your shades and watch the birds perched in the nearby trees. You can listen to them chatter whatever they are chattering about.

If the trees are too far away... get a bird feeder! Fill 'er up with birdseed. It will encourage the birds to come a little closer so you can sit and watch them. This is a very inexpensive way to watch a variety of colorful birds stopping by for breakfast every morning. You could add some more birdseed so you can watch the birds come in for dinner.

Be sure to listen to the birds. You will be able to distinguish the different sounds from each kind of birds. They all have a unique song to sing to you. Just listening to them sing in such a carefree and cheerful manner will literally drain the stress from you.

Pay Attention to the Flowers, Butterflies and Bees...

They are part of your natural stress relief program...

The next thing to do is plant some flowers. I love to garden... if you don't have a lot of time... you could just put the plants in a potted container. And if you get the flowering plants... they will attract the butterflies and bees. Watch the butterflies... many of them are quite beautiful. The patterns on their wings can sometimes be a sight to behold.

Now butterflies don't live for very long... they have to make the best of each moment they have. So while you are watching them flutter around... think about how important time is... what would you do if you only had a few days left in your life to live?

So what is STOPPING you from living the best life that you can live RIGHT NOW??!!

See? Just watching nature can become an introspective activity that makes you rethink about the priorities in your life. And many times the things that stress you out... turn out to be nothing important at all... just a distraction that you gave too much weight to.

So let me ask you this... what aren't you seeing because you don't pull your drapes back in the beginning of the day to let in the sun and air? See what you can be missing? It is nature's gift of natural stress relief that can revitalize and refresh you.

The Sun is Very Important to Our Bodies as a Natural Stress Reliever

Let's talk a little about the sunlight that is coming through your home... you see, the sun gives us light and natural heat that wakes up our biological clock and tells us... it's is time to wake up and go outside to enjoy the day!

And not only that... the sun gives energy to all the grass, plants and trees... gives them a reason to rise up and expand their leaves so they can get as much sun as they can.

I call this photo-therapy. I wouldn't use this word in a game... but I like the word because it describes how I feel about the sun and the positive effects it has on my overall appreciation of natural therapy.

And there are many ways that you can get a different perception of the sun. You could rent a beach house in the Caribbean for a couple of weeks.

There is something you should be aware of if you work in an office environment of the cold, harsh fluorescent lamps. It isn't natural and your body can tell the difference. And many times, you not only work all day in this fake light... by the time you get home... it is dark and you miss the sun.

And not receiving the bounty and warmth of the sun can become a contributor to the build up of stress in your body.

Now I know this idea may not be possible for many folks... but maybe you can make some schedule changes so that you can be out in the sun more frequently. Now, I am not talking about getting a nice tan or anything... I am talking about just getting direct sunlight on your skin so that your body feels connected with nature.

My point... and I do have a point! Is that nature is all around us... and many of us take it for granted. So please open up your window and shades the first thing in the morning so that you can invigorate yourself and feel the tension and stress just leaving your body. Pay attention to the birds and butterflies... they are your friends and go with a little garden that you can put in your backyard. Nature does a great job relieving stress and anxieties...

If I walk outside and the sun is out, I immediately take on a whole new attitude... my body changes immediately, it is hard for me to carry any stress when I am in the warmth of the sun!

How about spiders? Yesterday, I was out in the back enjoying the warm sun... the last days of the summer... and saw a spider spinning its web. It was just hypnotic how that spider did it's job.

And all of a sudden... it is in business! I hate bugs. And I noticed that while I was noticing things like you said in this lens, all my worries and stresses disappeared!

    Just wow, man. :)
