Natural Acne Cures To Try First

Acne occurs frequently in youth as well as in adults. It's a well known condition, and one that causes grief to the sufferer. You can buy various commercial products for the treatment of acne, but before you do, it may be worth your time to investigate natural acne cures.

Various natural remedies are available. Many of them -- such as keeping your hands away from the infected area -- are free and easy to do. Other natural remedies include simple lifestyle change or perhaps a free or low cost salve that you can make at home using foods from your cupboard or garden.

Natural Acne Cures to Try at Home

Natural Acne CuresThere are any number of things you can try to rid your face or other body part of pimples associated with acne. For starters, don't copy the gal in the photograph. She's touching her face with her hands. If you have acne, the simple acting of avoiding touching the spots will do much to prevent or cure your acne. Acne, you see, is caused by a combination of perspiration, bacteria and oil getting stuck in the pores of the skin. When you touch the affected area, you risk spreading and therefore worsening the effects of this bacteria and the oil.

Other natural acne cures include lifestyle changes such as diet, exercise and basic hygiene. For example, did you know that towels and bedding can contribute to acne? While changing the bedding once a week may be enough for those of us who do not experience acne, a weekly laundering is not sufficient for those who do. The pillowcases, sheets and towels can help spread the natural skin oils that contribute to the pimples and blemishes.

Other natural acne remedies include applying certain fruits, vegetables and other readily available foods directly to the skin, or as an ointment or salve. Foods to try include cucumber, honey, strawberries, lemon and others. Certain acne herbs have been identified as well. Mint is a highly rated herb as a treatment for this skin condition, but please note that this applies to raw mint leaves, not to mint that has been added to baked goods or candy.

Vitamins for acne are another good suggestion. Some claim that Vitamin B5 is helpful.

Many persons have experimented with acne homeopathic remedies as well, and some state that this type of alternative remedy has proven effective at treatment the skin condition.

Please note that acne rosacea is a different condition entirely from regular acne. The two are often confused, but the causes and treatments are different.
