Natural Bad Breath Remedy That Really Works!

Best Natural Bad Breath Remedy About
The best natural bad breath remedy around is Aktiv K12 or any one of the other brands that contain the probiotic Streptococcus salivarius K12.
I live in New Zealand and so I use Blis which contains exactly the same good bacteria in it. This bacteria is a real bad breath warrior and it will cure bad breath for most people.
Of course, if your bad breath is caused through poor dental hygiene or an illness then it won't help - but you already know what to do about that. Go see your dentist!
But for regular "garden variety" bad breath, any product that contains Streptococcus salivarius K12 works a treat.
I'm a big fan of it and not just because it was discovered by another New Zealander. I like it because it works - no fuss and you can do it all at home over the space of a few days.
Natural bad breath remedy: HOW does it work?
Your guide to this fabulous little good bacteria
You will need to do retake it every so often because slowly your natural mouth bacteria will re-establish themselves. It's very hard to permanently alter the indigenous population of bacteria in your mouth. Everything about your individual lifestyle conspires to keep the status quo.
Studies show that after about 8 days the numbers of K12 bacteria will begin to diminish. They will still be there 3 weeks later but in lesser numbers.
You will find your own level of how often you need to retake it. Many people find taking a course once a month keeps their mouth fresh and clean.
Others find that at the change of each season is a good time.
What are the dangers of taking a bacteria?
I'm glad you asked!
The official World Health Organization definition of probiotics is "live microorganisms which when administered in adequate amounts confer a health benefit on the host."
"confer a health benefit" - that's the important bit.
Now the inside of our mouth is a battle ground for competing bacteria. There are many, many bad bacteria there and they are the ones that cause bad breath. Aktiv K12 fights those pathogenic bacteria.
One of the natural homes for this good bacteria is the human mouth. Yep! It is supposed to be in our mouths. It was originally discovered in the mouth of a healthy human child.
As well, it is closely related to Streptococcus thermophilus which is found in yogurt.
Studies have been done specifically to test whether it could be in any way harmful to people and it passed all tests.
I personally take it Spring and Autumn each year and have for several years to guard against those change-of-season coughs and colds.

A natural bad breath remedy AND a fighter of winter woes?
Yes, yes, yes!
But, in the process, they discovered that is ALSO cures bad breath.
Streptococcus salivarius K12 was discovered by Professor John Tagg from Otago University in New Zealand. As a child, he caught "strep throat" which developed into rheumatic fever and he needed to take penicillin antibiotics for most of his teenage years.
Many years later, as a Professor, he looked for a probiotic bacteria that would protect children from "strep throat" and the harm it causes.
The fact that it also cures bad breath was just a wonderful side effect.

Where do the bad breath bugs hang out?
This area is drier than many parts of the mouth and doesn't get cleaned so often. This makes it a very desirable residence for the bacteria that cause bad breath.
When the tongue is examined under a microscope you can see that the surface is very convoluted and it is within the "hills and valleys" of your tongue that these bacteria feed on the remnants of food, dead skin cells and postnasal drip. Sounds a bit yuck but that is how things are in that area!
So these bacteria multiply, breaking down the protein they find into volatile sulfur compounds and you end up with a coated tongue and breath that makes strong men cry.
But, that super-duper natural bad breath remedy, Therabreath's Aktiv K12, will make that all a thing of the past.

- For sure, no one wants to have bad breath. That's so awful man! My last check up with my dentist (Miami, Florida-based), he told me that I should minimize drinking beverages which contain caffeine, and refuse or quit my smoking habit, because cavity build-up will become worse. I'm so thankful that he did a great job for teeth whitening (Miami). Since I don't want to have bad breath again, I'll just follow his advice.

- Interesting. I always look for natural remedies. Did not know that our under tongue is the worst culprit.

- Not so much under the tongue but the very back part on top of the tongue. They seem to build up there - little varmits!

- I'm always looking at remedies. Looks like a good one. In Chinese medicine they understand in the more severe cases (halitosis) that the infection or imbalance is even deeper, in the stomach. So by cooling the hot stomach or by chilling the microbes in the stomach they run away or die and become eliminated. So the nasty breath doesn't rise and chase all your loved away too. Your remedy for higher up at the back of the tongue would be more appropriate for most conditions. Good lens!
