Better for you, your family and the environment!

As a mother of two children on the Autistic Spectrum, I have found that removing toxins from our home helped our children. I started researching how to make chemical free cleaning supplies at home. The ingredients are easy to find (you have most of them in your home already!), inexpensive and easy on the environment.

Commercially made cleaners contain many harmful toxins, such as arsenic, that can cause neurological and respiratory damage over time, and trigger allergies and asthma attacks.

Many of the changes have been easy: like using white vinegar in place of fabric softener in the wash, and using baking soda as a non-scratch alternative to clean my sinks. Works great on porcelain or stainless steel!

Others take a bit more effort, but the result is still fantastic! Did you know you can make your own dishwasher detergent using 1/2 cup borax, 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/4 cup table salt?
