What Causes Pimples and Why Do I Get Them?
Acne is caused by our pores (hair follicle's) becoming clogged and full of sebum, dead skin and bacteria. All of these combined are a formula for the hair follicle to become red swollen and angry looking.Once the follicle becomes infected through the bacteria it will start to become more inflamed and will start to rise away from the skin making it look more unsightly.
The Hair Follicle
The hair follicle is simply where the hair emerges onto the face. Shaving and plucking hairs from the face can then cause ingrowing hairs which will lead to further spots going deeper into the face.
Sebum
The sebaceous gland's function is to coat the hair on the body with a waterproof like coating. When they start to produce too much sebum it can cause clogging of the pore. The gland can produce excess sebum when the body starts to produce testosterone.
Dead Skin Cells
They naturally occur all over the body. When they build up in the pores it can show on the face as a blackhead.
So if we put all these together in a tiny pore, you can expect them to become infected and inflamed. This is what we see as the pimple.

Acne Is Hell
Acne is a problem that many people face throughout their life, and while no one really knows the exact cause, there is some helpful information that those with acne should know to help them cope with the problem. On the skin there are follicles (often they are called pores), which at times get blocked. The oil on the skin (also known as sebum) that normally drains to the surface gets blocked inside and, there, bacteria will grow. What most people call zits or pimples actually begins its life as a papule. This papule begins its life when a break occurs in the wall of the follicle. At this time white blood cells come in and the pore becomes inflamed. After a couple days a pustule (what we call the zit or pimple) is created when the white blood cells move to the surface of the skin. Other forms of acne also include both whiteheads and blackheads. Whiteheads are formed when the trapped oil and bacteria stays below the skin, these often appear as tiny white spots on the skin. The blackheads form when the trapped oil and bacteria is exposed to the surface and then turn black because of the skin's pigment (known as melanin), can last a very long time and cannot be washed away.
Luckily, however, there are certain things you can do to solve your acne problem.
Should I Squeeze My Ugly Zits? (We all have)
In fact, squeezing the affected area may push the bacteria further down the skin layers. It can also unnecessarily damage the skin allowing the bacteria to spill over the neighboring skin, which can result in a bigger and deeper scar.
Treatments For Mild Acne
Mild cases of acne can usually be treated effectively by keeping your skin clean. This can be achieved by washing your face (or any affected areas) twice daily using warm water and a hypoallergenic soap. Over the counter creams containing salicylic acid can also be used to eradicate the bacteria on the skin surface. If your doctor recommends it, you can also use vitamin supplements to keep your skin healthy. Niacin, vitamins A, E, and zinc can be used for this purpose.Aside from these, there are also a lot of home remedies that are proven effective in reducing the severity of acne break-outs. Some of the more proven
alternative remedies include the juice from orange peels, lemon juice and/or garlic. These items can be applied directly on the affected areas until the
offending acne clears up.

It's unbelievable that something this bad is happening, yet it is almost totally uncontrolled. It's almost as if acne is an acceptable thing now, and everyone is suffering from it.
So when it comes down to it, the effects of acne lie deeper than the skin portrays. Acne effects not only physical, but also mental, emotional, and social aspects of lives. Too many times there are people out there not living up to their full potential of life. This means the way in which they are mentally brought up to be. There will be a person who has become shy, and emotionally disturbed because of his or her appearance. They were not this way before the skin problem, and seemingly have turned into a new person. This is quite alarming and in some cases, can be deadly.
