A few things you can do to help heal your cold sore. Picture of a large, cold sore on the lip.

1. Keep your lips coated with Aloe Vera. This is very moisturizing and will keep your lips from cracking and splitting. This will also soothe the cold sores. If you don't have any, you can substitute with a good lip balm.

2. Use Ice. Sometimes ice will stunt the growth of the cold sore preventing it from spreading. Ice is also a good pain reliever and swelling reducer.

3. Use green tea. Not only should you drink this great beverage for all the health benefits, but use the warm, moist tea bag on the cold sore to help draw out toxins. Keep it on for approximately 30 seconds a few times throughout the day.

4. Don't pick the sores. This is a hard one for some people, but by not picking your cold sores, they will heal quicker.
