Here are some tips to prevent heartburn:
- Avoid foods that cause heartburn:
- All citrus fruits including oranges must be avoid by those who are affected with heartburn.
- All types of aerated beverages like coffee and tea, as well as alcoholic drinks.
- Excess consumption of deep fried foods, animal fat, spicy pickles and the like.
- Avoid chocolate and oil.
- Never eat and then lay down.
Give some time for you food to be processed, at least two hours. - Do not over eat and do not eat in hurry.
Over eat and eat in hurry just will make it harder to chew your food and digest it properly. - Do not wear too tight clothes (inner garments, pants, corsets, brassieres, vests, etc).
Wearing too tight clothes would also end you up suffering from this digestive problem.
At first, maybe it's not easy and you will probably slip a time or two. It's fine. It takes time to develop good habit and lifestyle.
