  1. Apple Cider Vinegar Apple Cider Vinegar has medicinal properties that will help alleviate gout pain. The secret is the that ACV has quercitin (and quite a bit in it!) that is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. You've Treated the Pain...Now How Do you Make Gout Go Away?

3 Home Remedies to Treat and Prevent Gout

First, understanding why you are getting gout is key to understanding how to make it go away.

People with gout have a buildup of a metabolic by product called uric acid which is made when we break down protein enzymes. Normally, we simply flush uric acid out through urine. If the buildup is too intense, rather than eliminate it, uric acid winds up in our bloodstream and eventually crystallizes in areas of tissue surrounding our joints. The crystals form needle like structures that poke into our joints making it painful. Our bodies make uric acid naturally but the foods we eat can help elevate it (or in our case, decrease) uric acid levels.

Now that we know the why, we know that in order to prevent gout or make it go away, we need to find something that will either neutralize excessive uric acid OR inhibit the production of uric acid.

Here are 3 home remedies for gout that can make you say goodbye to gout.
  1. Garlic- We all know that garlic makes our breath stinky. But did you know that garlic also helps prevent gout? Here is how. Garlic has properties that naturally inhibit the production of uric acid. In other words, it helps neutralize the things that make gout possible

  2. Turmeric Turmeric has been used by the Chinese and Ayurvedic cultures for centuries as a way to treat gout and arthritis. It is known to have powerful anti-inflammatory properties.

  3. Nettle RootNettle Root is another home remedy for gout that could work for you. Nettle root works because it encourages the kidneys to release uric acid. Like Turmeric, it has anti-inflammatory agents.

Thyme has been used for centuries to Treat Gout
